11 Dessert Hacks To Quickly Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

by Olivia Youngs

My name is Olivia and I’m a dessert addict.

Well, maybe not an addict, per se, but if given the choice between a bowl of creamy, melt-in-your-mouth Cherry Garcia and a million dollars, I would probably choose the ice cream. The downside to this addiction, however, is getting stuck in a dessert rut. After buying the same ice cream or cookies week after week, I’m ready to spice things up (or, sugar it up, as the case may be.) That’s where life-changing dessert hacks come in handy. With a few simple tricks, I’m able to amp up my store-bought confections and nip the monotony right in the frosted bud.

If you’re in need of some sugar therapy, this list is for you. Some of these hacks are so simple you’ll be asking why you didn’t think of it first, and some of them require a little bit of planning. But they all have one thing in common — a delicious result that that will take your boring, tried and true desserts up to the next level. Converting you to the ranks of fellow dessert addict may not be my goal, but don’t say I didn’t warn you. So grab a spoon, a spatula, or your dessert weapon of choice and be prepared to change the way you make desserts forever.
