15 Books Parents And Toddlers Should Read No Matter the Occasion

by Lindsay E. Mack

I am of the opinion that books are appropriate for any occasion, whether you’re traveling, learning a new skill, or just winding down for the day. Reading makes everything better. And this goes double when you’re a parent, because reading is a great way to teach your child new concepts, help him settle down, or even goof off together. (And, let’s face it, reading children’s lit is fun for you too, right?) From classics to more modern tales, there are definitely some books parents and toddlers should read together.

Of course tucking into a good book at bedtime is a given, but you can find a reason to make any occasion appropriate for story time. Whether you’re teaching your toddler about important concepts such as opposites or just trying to stay entertained on a rainy day, these reads can help you bond over a fun shared activity. The best part? You can watch your toddler’s imagination and creativity grow with every read.

So here are 15 books for you to share with your toddler for any occasion. They’re all smart, sweet stories that your toddler will love to hear again (and again, and again.) Fortunately, with stories this good, you won’t even mind the repetition.
