15 Movies To Binge Watch On Netflix That You Didn't Know You'd Love

by Ni'Kesia Pannell

When Netflix hit the world, I doubt anyone knew it would have as large of an impact as it does now. Though it was originally just a place that made watching movies and television shows readily available, it has now become much more. From creating its own series to premiering its own films, Netflix has blessed the world with more than it could have imagined. Since there are so many films flowing from the popular site, it's easy to miss out on movies to binge watch on Netflix that you didn't know you'd love.

Since the site hosts both older movies and newer ones, subscribers will have the opportunity to catch up on movies from the past that they may have missed. Thanks to my sister and her giving heart, I am able to watch every movie I've seen over and over again, and check out a few new ones when I'm bored. And, I must admit, I've found some pretty great movies on Netflix that I passed up on when they hit theaters.

Although there are a wide range of films to choose from, the inventory changes quickly. So, get the popcorn ready and plop down in front of the screen to binge watch these 15 films.

1

'Almost Famous'

If you love music, you'll love Almost Famous even more.

2

'Hush'

Though I haven't personally seen Hush yet, it is definitely on my list of things to watch. Creepy stalker targeting a beautiful author? Yes.

3

'Sixteen Candles'

Considered a cult classic, I was introduced to Sixteen Candles many, many years ago through my mother. If you're looking for the opportunity to take it back a few years, this is totally where you should start.

4

'Home'

Still relatively new, the animation film starring Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and Steve Martin, is a great one to watch with the kids.

5

'Hotel Transylvania 2'

I'm a huge fan of animation films, so imagine my surprise when I found out Adam Sandler was starring in a sequel to Hotel Transylvania. Just as humorous and adorable as the first, Hotel Transylvania 2 is great to watch with the kids or alone.

6

'The Wood'

Every Christmas Eve, my younger brother and I have a tradition of watching certain movies back to back. Though it has nothing to do with the holiday, The Wood, which tells a story of three friends on the west coast, is one of our first picks.

7

'Mystic River'

Truly a great movie from start to finish, Mystic River will boggle your mind, pull at your heart, and make you wish for an alternate ending all in one.

8

'To Kill A Mockingbird'

When I was a kid, my mom made me sit down and watch To Kill a Mockingbird with her. Since it's shot in black and white, my initial reaction was not that positive, but as I watched it, I realized just how important this film would turn out to be in my life.

9

'The Little Rascals'

If you grew up in the '90s The Little Rascals should be nothing new to you. All the more reason why you should watch it all over again.

10

'Scream 2'

My favorite franchise of scary movies has got to go to the Scream installments. Scream 2, however, will always be my favorite of the lot because of the all-star cast they recruited.

11

'Dope'

Surely one of 2015's best movies, DOPE was just as the title suggests.

12

'Fruitvale Station'

One of the most talked about movies during the year it premiered, Michael B. Jordan's starring role in Fruitvale Station will keep you going back for more.

13

'Clueless'

Is there really any question as to why this is on the list? If you haven't had the opportunity to watch 1995's cult classic Clueless, now is the time to. Like, duh.

14

'A Night At The Roxbury'

Back in 1998, my older sister and I fell in love with the brotherly duo known as Doug and Steve. Starring in A Night at the Roxbury, Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan, the movie is based on the Saturday Night Live skit, "The Roxbury Guys."

15

'Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood'

In the mood for comedy? Shawn, Marlon, and Keenan Ivory Wayans will do a good job and giving you what you're looking for with the 1996 comedy Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.
