by Irina Gonzalez

You come home after a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Maybe you got chewed out by your less than competent co-worker or had a blow-out over text with your BFF. Either way, you're done. You feel deflated and can only muster enough energy to lay on the couch and turn on Netflix. Lucky for you, that sour mood you're in can improve by streaming one of the many Netflix movies to watch when you're sad.

Everyone has that movie that can make them feel good no matter what, right? (For me, that movie is Pitch Perfect.) Unfortunately, your go-to may not be on Netflix and the DVD may be scratched from so many views. That's when you need to rely on the Netflix stock to boost your mood. The good news is that Netflix has plenty to feel-good films to choose from and appeal to all movie preferences. From cinema classics like Forrest Gump to modern flicks like Mean Girls to movies that make you feel all of the feels (E.T., I'm looking at you), Netflix will be there for you. To get you started, here are 28 Netflix movies that are sure to put a smile on your face even after the worst of days.

Although the original is also available on Netflix, nothing can beat the campy fun of Grease 2, which stars Michelle Pfeiffer as the Pink Lady bad girl and Maxwell Caulfield as the shy, sensitive nerd hoping to win her heart. Plus, what movie with a song about bowling wouldn't cheer you up?

4

11

'Trolls'

If you couldn't get Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop The Feeling" out of your head last summer, Trolls is probably why. Sure, it's an adorable kids movie inspired by our favorite childhood toy — but that doesn't mean we can't watch and feel just as happy as the rest of them.

12

'13 Going On 30'

What kid didn't wish that they were all grown up, and what adult didn't wish that they were a kid again? In 13 Going On 30, Jennifer Garner gets her wish and experiences life as a 30-year-old to, let's just say, shaky results. The movie has plenty of fun, though, and is definitely one of my top picks for cheering myself up once in a while.

13

'Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves'

If you missed the first two, have no fear. In Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves, Rick Moranis is back as the inventor with a shrink ray who accidentally puts his family (and this time, himself) in peril. It's a reversal from the original, and it will have you laughing for hours.

17

'Turner & Hooch'

Tom Hanks stars in this buddy cop comedy with a twist: a fastidious detective (played by Hanks) gets partnered with a dog named Hooch, whose previous owner was killed. It's fun to watch the two try to get along, and it's even better because the movie is sure to warm your heart.

18

'The Secret Life Of Pets'

The Secret Life Of Pets showcases just what your pets are up to when you're staying at home. From funny moments with a very proper dog playing hard rock to some very amusing moments with an eagle, pets in a neighborhood band together to save two squabbling pet dogs who can't seem to get along — until they're accidentally stuck in the outside world.

19

'Chicago'

This Oscar-winning musical has such an addictive beat that you will feel yourself shaking your hips and tapping your foot as you listen to Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones belt the tunes of Chicago. Just because it's a prison movie doesn't mean it can't be fun.

20

24

'The Mighty Ducks'

How many times did you watch The Mighty Ducks as a kid? Relieve those sweet, sweet memories as you watch troubled lawyer Emilio Estevez coach the ragtag hockey team as a sentence for his DUI. All of the feels and feel-good cheering are still here, I promise.

25

'Something's Gotta Give'

Something's Gotta Give stars Jack Nicholson as a womanizer who usually dates women half his age. But all of that changes unexpectedly when Diane Keaton (his girlfriend's mom) enters his life. 26

'Tropic Thunder'

A group of actors are forced to become real-life soldiers in Tropic Thunder, a film from writer-director-star Ben Stiller. Full of raunchy and oh-so-wrong humor (including Robert Downey, Jr. as an extreme method actor), this is definitely the movie to watch if you need something to lift your spirits.
