7 Tools To Help Create Bigger Lips, Because Full Pouts Are On Trend

by Jill Di Donato

Who doesn't want a sexy pout? And the good news is, you don't have to go through a painful procedure to get one. There are plenty of tools to create bigger lips that you may already have in your makeup kit or even around the house.

Yes, it's true. You don't need to get injections to get a Kylie Jenner-esque pout. And why would you want to? Who knows how long big lips will be in style, and by using beauty tricks over procedures, you can wipe your plump lips off at the end of the night. You might not be a professional, but that doesn't mean you can't use pro tips to get those luscious-looking lips.

So go ahead and rock your smokey eye, dark brow, and out-to-there lashes along with your full lips. There are no rules when it comes to adding oomph to your smile. A pretty pout goes with just about any makeup look if done correctly. There are, however, a couple tricks to creating the look. After all, you don't want to overdo it; there's nothing sexy about a sloppy mouth. But don't worry, these tips are so super easy they can be included in the lazy girl's makeup routine. So pucker up and get plump lips: no fillers required.

1

Toothbrush

The first step in creating a fuller pout is to brush away the dry skin from your lips. LA Healthy Living recommended rubbing a dry toothbrush on your lips every morning, not just to shed dead skin, but to get the blood flowing and naturally plump you pout.

2

Concealer

Concealer is one of the best makeup tools around, am I right? But did you know it can also make your lips look fuller? Just dab your usual shade onto your lips to, according to Seventeen, "fake a larger canvas." If you go over the lip line, it's all good. This is one time when it's fine to color outside the box.

3

Nude Liner

While using liner seems like a no-brainer for fuller lips, you should actually use liner that matches the skin tone of your lips (as opposed to your lipstick), according to Marie Claire. The nude liner creates a "uniform canvas," which creates the illusion of bigger lips once you apply your color.

4

Gloss

Skip the matte lipstick and opt instead for a sheer gloss. Seventeen noted that dark colors flatten the look of the lips. Who knew? One stroke and you're on your way to fuller looking lips.

5

Lip Brush

This is a trick I learned from one of my many Sephora visits (what can I say; I'm a product junkie). When you apply lipstick with a brush you can fill in lines and creases and add a little more lipstick to the outer rims of your lips to achieve an enhanced look.

6

Bronzer

According to Marie Claire, you can use bronzer below your lower lip to create shadows that will make your lips appear larger than life. One quick swipe with your finger will do it.

Q-Tips

Because you're going big with your lips, you might mess up the first couple times you're trying these techniques. Never fear, Q-tips Precision Tips are what the pros use to correct their mistakes, or so the lovely makeup expert at Sephora told me. The tapered end is perfect for cleaning up your pout.

Now that your lips are full, go find someone to kiss, or take that selfie to make yourself smile.
