7 Ways to Feel Sexy While Pregnant (Yes, Even In Your Third Trimester)
by Britni de la Cretaz

“Pregnant” and “sexy” are not always words that go hand-in-hand. When I think about being pregnant, I’m more likely to think of words like “bloated,” “giant,” and “uncomfortable.” But pregnancy can be a time to feel sexy in your pregnant body that’s growing and sustaining human life. (I mean, what’s sexier than having superpowers?) For some people, those feelings of sexiness are easy to come by. For others, it takes some work to get there. But even during the most difficult pregnancies, there are small ways to help you feel sexy while pregnant.

Sexiness is a state of mind that has nothing to do with how you look, and everything to do with how you feel. And if you’re feeling sick and tired, chances are that you’re not feeling sexy. For me, I didn’t aim to feel sexy. I just aimed to feel better in my new, unfamiliar body. A byproduct of feeling better in my body was feeling sexy in my body. And the first step to getting there was to find things that felt good.

“Sexy” means different things to different people. For some, it’s about appealing to a partner(s). For others, it’s something that comes from within. Regardless of how you define sexy, here are seven ways to get your closer to the feeling while sporting an amazing baby bump.

1

Masturbate

This will always be on any list I make about how to feel sexy, because it works. If you enjoy orgasms, pregnancy is the time to have them. The hormones coursing through your body make for more intense climaxes, since there’s more blood flow to your pelvic region. When your body brings you pleasure, it’s often easier to feel good about being in it.

Get Your Hair Done

When I was pregnant, I went for an extremely different ‘do. My lavender pixie made me feel bright and cheery when I was feeling anything but. Make sure you wait until after the first trimester, as no one is sure if salon chemicals have any harmful effects on an embryo’s developing organs. But if you’d rather err on the side of caution, skip the dye and just go for a fun new style.

3

Smell Nice

Pregnancy might be a good time to switch up your scent routine. Smells are much stronger and more potent during pregnancy, and some might even make you sick. Find a new scent that your pregnant self likes, whether it’s an oil, lotion, or perfume.

5

Buy Lingerie

Even if you’re not feeling up for sexytime with a partner(s), wearing sexy lingerie can help boost your self-image.

6

Buy Clothing That Fits

As your body starts to change, you may find that you no longer feel good in your clothing. Maybe it feels physically tight, or it just doesn’t flatter you in the way you wish it would. Getting a few items that fit your new body and make you feel comfortable can go a long way towards making you feel sexy in your skin.

7

Have Sex

Only if you want to, of course! But when you connect with a partner(s), physically enjoy your body, and watch them love and enjoy your body, it’s a great way to feel hot.
