9 Sex Positions That Will Give You the Best Orgasm, Because You’re Tired of Faking It (And You Shouldn’t Have To)

Orgasms, unfortunately, aren’t always easily achieved. Psychology Today reported that only 25 percent of women have consistent orgasms with just vaginal intercourse (for those who failed Sex Ed, that means penetration — cunnalingus doesn’t count.) That’s a pretty sad statistic if you ask me. Now, most couples assume if they aren’t achieving the Big O, then they have to get super creative with their sexual positions. But if you’re looking for the best sex positions for an orgasm, you don’t have to get too wild.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, sex educator Dorian Solot emphasized that when it comes to the female orgasm, the simple positions are the best ones. “Trying to accomplish complicated acrobatics distracts you from the sex itself, putting your focus on how you can contort yourself, rather than on just experiencing the sensations.”

Now, no one’s suggesting you toss out your copy of the Kama Sutra (those positions can very pleasurable.) Rather, you and your partner should focus on finding positions that maximize your odds of orgasm, whether that’s G-spot stimulation or clitoral friction. The trick is to be in a position where you are either able to touch yourself or have your partner reach your front during intercourse. With all that in mind, here are nine sex positions guaranteed to bring you to orgasm without an impossible body contortion.

1

Doggy Style

If the name turns you off, call it something else, but doggy style is great for achieving the Big O. Because the G-spot is located in the front of the vagina, this position gives your partner easy access to that button and puts a lot of pressure on the area. Not to mention, it gives you and your partner easy access to your clitoris.

2

Reverse Cowgirl

A fun twist to girl-on-top, reverse cowgirl is when you’re on top of your partner, but facing their feet. With this move, your partner gets a great view while you control the depth and speed of penetration. For extra stimulation, try leaning back and giving your partner a chance to touch your clitoris.

3

Spooning

Perfect for those early morning romps, the spoon position is intimate and pleasurable. This position boasts plenty of G-spot stimulation and keeping your legs together can make the penetration even tighter.

4

Legs Up

With your partner on their knees and your legs straight up in the air against their shoulders, you’re rewarding yourself with deep penetration. Not to mention if gives your legs an awesome workout. Win-win.

5

Missionary With a Pillow

Standard missionary is all well and good, but try sliding a pillow under your hips in this position. Lifting your body up can increase the chances of your partner hitting your g-spot, but you can also grind your clitoris against their pelvis in this position, especially if they lean forward, and create some sexy friction.

6

Standard Cowgirl

Cowgirl hat and boots not necessary for this sexy position (unless you’re into that sort of thing.) Although standard cowgirl increases G-spot stimulation, it’s also perfect for grinding against your partner’s pelvis to create a clitoral orgasm.

7

Knees to the Chest

Pulling your knees to your chest doesn’t have to be a torturous exercise. Another upgrade to the missionary position, this one includes laying on your back and pulling your knees up to your chest, giving your partner an incredibly deep penetration and access to your clitoris.

8

Laying Flat

A variation on doggy style, this rear-entry position requires you to lay flat. This gives your partner a tight penetration and allowing you to grind on the bed to stimulate your clitoris. If it seems a bit too difficult, try lifting your butt.

9

9. Sitting Up

Whether your partner takes a seat in a chair or on the edge of the bed, the sitting position is sure to get you off. Because your partner’s pubic bone will be level with your clitoris, you can grind against your partner while they thrust from underneath. Doing it in a chair also gives your feet the leverage you need to move up and down.
