Colton’s season of The Bachelor has now passed the halfway mark and every week the numbers are going to get smaller and smaller. Eventually, he’ll have just a few contestants left to find his future wife and there are already some Bachelorette theories to get you excited for what comes next. As in, the next season of The Bachelorette, which typically films soon after The Bachelor ends and gives birth to a plethora of contestants for Bachelor in Paradise.
This time last season, some fans were already certain that Tia from Arie’s season of The Bachelor would be named as the next Bachelorette. Others pegged Kendall because she was relatable with a good head on her shoulders. As we all know now, fans who were sure either of them would be named were wrong and Becca stole the show as the Bachelorette we needed after Arie’s heartbreaking season.
So while some fans might be sure about their picks from Colton’s season, things could take an unexpected turn and The Bachelor powers that be might choose someone from another season entirely. It would definitely be a suitable ending to one of the most *dramatic* seasons ever.
There are still a handful of women left for Colton to give roses to or send packing, but for now, let’s take a look at the Bachelorette theories that actually have some weight to them.

Elyse Will Be Chosen As The Next Bachelorette
A few days ago, some fans on Reddit agreed that Elyse would be good as a lead on The Bachelorette. Since then, she sent herself home on The Bachelor because she couldn't handle sharing Colton with 10 other women. I don't know how she would do sharing herself with two dozen men on The Bachelor, but until she left Monday night, she seemed like she was ready for a commitment and that’s what Bachelor Nation is all about.

There Will Be Three Memorable Women From Colton’s Season
On Twitter, one fan predicted that Cassie will win The Bachelor, Demi will go on to "run" Bachelor in Paradise, and Caelynn will be the next Bachelorette. All three women have already made their mark on The Bachelor so far this season, so I don't think it's a totally unbelievable scenario.

Cassie Is The One To Watch
Although Cassie has only had one date with Colton so far, another fan on Twitter insisted that she’s going to come out of the season with one of two things: either she is the contestant Colton proposes to or she’s the next Bachelorette. Otherwise, the fan wrote, they will never watch The Bachelor again. Given the fact that she hasn't had much screen time and that her one-on-one date with Colton was like one long waist-deep ocean makeout sesh, I find both scenarios hard to latch onto, but we’ll see.

Katie Is The Queen We’ve Been Waiting For
I’m not saying that Becca didn't also kill it as a strong and confident Bachelorette, but one Bachelor fan on Reddit wrote that Katie has the on-screen presence viewers need in a Bachelorette. "She just seems extremely smart, easygoing, and likable with easy chemistry," they explained.

Fans Will Get A 'Bachelorette' Villain Season
While I see Demi as more of the type of contestant to go on to leave her mark on Bachelor in Paradise, Redditor DeSterrennacht wrote that they see Demi as the next Bachelorette. Another Redditor, marniedobs, agreed that they too are ready for a villain season. Right now, I can't see that working because Demi seems like she was made for Bachelor in Paradise. But she’s been real with the other women and has given fans tons of amazing soundbites already this season. She would definitely be entertaining to watch on The Bachelorette.

None Of Colton’s Ladies Will Be Picked
It’s not an unheard of theory. On Reddit, biogirl52 said that they can't see any of Colton’s contestants as a lead on The Bachelorette, and I don't totally doubt it. Typically, the next Bachelor or Bachelorette is plucked from the preceding season of the show they competed on. But Arie was a wild card, as he was from The Bachelorette Season 8. And the Bachelor before him, Nick, was from The Bachelorette Season 10 and 11 instead of the more recent Season 12 at the time.

Caelynn Has Already Been Given 'The Bachelorette' Edit
Other fans are certain that Caelynn is already being groomed for the role. She bravely shared her story about her sexual assault and took it upon herself to end her feud with fellow contestant and former pageant queen Hannah B. Besides their initial drama, she’s shown class and a vulnerability that Bachelor producers appreciate in a lead.

It Will Be A Total Surprise
Redditor msnicole17 posted that The Bachelor franchise should "quit recycling contestants" and choose someone new for the next Bachelorette. I don't know how much I agree with the idea, though. In recent seasons, part of the fun of the unveiling of the new Bachelor or Bachelorette is seeing a former fan favorite get their chance to shine as a lead. On the one hand, it would be nice to see one of Colton’s contestants get their chance in the spotlight. Then again, it would be refreshing to see someone with no Bachelor history.
Regardless of who the next Bachelorette is, fans are likely in for another exciting and dramatic season. Personally, I would like to see someone from Colton’s season get another shot as love, but in the driver’s seat this time. Any blast from the past could work too. At this point, I’m just ready to see who Colton chooses so the next Bachelorette can be announced.
