Here's What We Know So Far About Beyoncé's Twins

by Cameron Norsworthy

The Knowles-Carter family knows how to keep a secret. Remember Lemonade? The totally covert audio-visual project that shook the world last spring? Honestly, it's no surprise that Beyoncé twins updates are few and far between right now; Certain personal moments don't need to be shared with the general public, especially where health and safety are concerned. Still, the Beyhive is buzzing with the little info that has been circulating, and are looking out for more.

Since Bey and Jay announced the pregnancy in February, fans have been counting down the days. The fact that the world would soon be welcoming twins was almost too much to handle. "We would like to share our love and happiness," Beyoncé's now-famous Instagram post read. "We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes." The caption was featured beneath a photo of Bey in a veil, surrounded by flowers.

With all of the build up, it's no wonder why the Internet totally freaked out when the news first hit that the babies had reportedly arrived. So, without further ado, here's what we know — and don't know — so far about the birth of the long-awaited twins.

Beyoncé Reportedly Gave Birth About A Week Ago

According to The Sun, Bey reportedly left home last Wednesday and missed a prior engagement the following Thursday, which led many to believe that the star was in labor at the time. An official baby birthdate of the twins has not yet been released, though.

The Twins Are Reportedly A Boy & A Girl

Multiple sources claimed to Us Weekly that Blue Ivy now has a brother and a sister. The names of the Knowles-Carter twins, however, are anybody's guess.

The Birth May Have Been Confirmed By Beyoncé's Dad

Despite circulating rumors, no official confirmation was sent by Beyoncé's team, but a tweet on June 18 appeared to confirm the twins' arrival — and the leak was posted by Bey's own father. Many interpreted this as an accident, noting that Mathew Knowles probably didn't know that everything was so airtight. This isn't the first time he's been out of the loop, though; Until Beyoncé made her initial pregnancy announcement awhile back, Mathew hadn't even heard that she was pregnant.

Bey's Twins Are Geminis

Having twins born in the season of twins is surely something special. The twins' big sister, Blue Ivy, is a Capricorn herself; Bey is a Virgo and Jay Z is a Sagittarius.

The Twins Are Likely Still In The Hospital

Due to a supposed "minor issue," TMZ claimed, the Knowles-Carter babies have been kept at the hospital for about a week. The outlet also insisted that Beyoncé is still there, too, with little word on how everything is going.

Hopefully we'll be graced with a new baby photoshoot in the near future, but for the meantime we'll have to settle with the few facts given, and just respect the family's privacy. It's their right to keep their health concerns to themselves, even if they are one of the world's most famous broods. For the time being, keep tabs on Bey's Insta, because when she is ready to share, you know that's where she'll post first.
