Channing Tatum's Daughter Clearly Doesn't Give AF That He's A Star, & It’s Hilarious

by Gillian Walters

Parenting isn't always synonymous with amazing self-esteem, especially if your kid is a keen observer with a knack for comedy. This is something Channing Tatum knows all too well, and it turns out his 4-year-old daughter Everly Tatum could care less about his celebrity status. In fact, Channing Tatum said his daughter doesn’t cut him any slack whatsoever, and it’s absolutely hysterical.

Similarly to fellow celebrity dad Ryan Reynolds, Tatum's interviews about parenting are always hilarious and down-to-earth. On Thursday, Tatum opened up about repeatedly failing to impress Everly, and it's something a lot of parents can probably relate to.

Tatum said, according to ET Online:

I've never worked so hard to like, make a girl like me and fail. I was like, 'Please, please, just please love me, please just love me!

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. I guess Everly isn't too thrilled about Magic Mike. Even better yet, Everly finds it hilarious when Tatum accidentally hurts himself, because of course. Tatum joked, according to International Business Times:

She likes it when I fall down and hurt myself! She's like, 'Haha, do it again!' She's my harshest critic, man, but it's the best. It's a really good humbling experience, I can promise you.

But wait, this isn't the first time Everly has knocked Tatum down a peg or two. On Aug. 1, Tatum confessed to Jimmy Kimmel that Everly isn't a fan of Step Up. Yes, the same movie where Everly's parents, Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum, first met. Tatum and Dewan Tatum made the grave mistake of showing Everly the film, and she shot it down — like a professional film critic. Tatum said, according to Elle:

We were like, 'This is going to be really cool. It's got dancing; she's going to love it.' Within 10 seconds, she was like, 'Can I watch a real movie? I don't know, like a good one?' And we were like, 'What do you mean? This is a real movie. It was such a real movie, they made like seven more of these. Like, you will WATCH it. Right. Sit down!' And then like 10 more seconds went by and she was like, 'Please can I watch a real movie?' And we were like, 'Fine, just put on Moana. I don't care.'

OK, Everly needs her own talk show like right now — she clearly knows what's up.

Although Tatum and Dewan Tatum prefer to keep Everly out of the public eye (they rarely show photos of her face), it's great that they're open to sharing these funny anecdotes. Everly has no filter, and it's amazing.
