How 'Bachelor In Paradise' Is Going To Handle The Season 4 Controversy

Following weeks of investigations and televised interviews, People reported Bachelor in Paradise contestants Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson will appear on Season 4 of the show. The news follows a controversial incident between the two that temporarily halted production of the hit reality show for two weeks. Last month, cameras shut down after two producers raised concerns regarding an alleged sexual encounter between Olympios and Jackson, in which they claimed Olympios was reportedly too drunk to give consent. Although neither is expected to return to the set in Mexico, the show will reportedly address what went down that day.

A spokesperson for Warner Bros. — the production company behind Bachelor in Paradise — told Romper they're "not ready to confirm any storylines at this point" and declined to comment further at this time.

According to People, a source explained that they’re not sure “how in depth [the season] will get with the situation,” but they “will definitely address there was a stop-down, and how things will move going forward.”

The source also told People that there is "hours upon hours" of footage that will likely be edited and used in upcoming episodes. As Variety reported, the "cameras were rolling for roughly one week" before news broke that production had been shut down.

Despite their alleged involvement in the incident, Olympios and Jackson were reportedly invited back to show when it resumed filming, but both declined the invitations, according to Us Weekly.

In a previous statement to Romper — which announced it had found no evidence on misconduct on set — a spokesperson for Warner Bros. said that they "do not intend to release the videotape of the incident" that led to the show's suspension. The statement continued, "We can say, however, that the tape does not support any charge of misconduct by a cast member."

Aside from how Bachelor in Paradise will ultimately address the alleged encounter between Jackson and Olympios, Refinery 29 reported that "Jackson himself may appear on the check-in episode 'The Bachelorette: Men Tell All' after the finale of this season's The Bachelorette." And considering the length at which he described the controversy already during a multi-part interview with E! News, his side of the story may have another opportunity to gain more texture.

Meanwhile, Olympios will likely remain out of the public eye for now as she said in a recent statement to People: "I understand the media’s interest in this story, and I greatly appreciate my fans’ concerns for my well-being, but I think it is best if I keep any further thoughts private for now."

Bachelor in Paradise was originally set to air on Aug. 8, but a new premiere date has not been scheduled yet.
