Does 'The Bachelorette' Air On Memorial Day?

by Chrissy Bobic

The best and worst thing about the way The Bachelorette airs is that it lasts just 12 weeks, giving fans almost an entire summer of episodes but for some, nowhere near enough to satisfy them. But since the spring and summer aren’t without holidays, how does that work for the show? More importantly, does The Bachelorette air on Memorial Day?

True love can’t just take a day off and even though the show doesn’t air live episodes, The Bachelorette will definitely still be on for Memorial Day. So long after you’ve made the backyard barbecue rounds and soaked up that summer sun, you can still watch a new episode of The Bachelorette at the end of the day. And really, now isn't the time to have a holiday interrupt Rachel's journey, so it all works out.

Rachel will no doubt be choosing men for her first one-on-one date and no one wants to miss the competitive side come out of Lucas, a.k.a. The "Whaboom" guy, Bryan, or Adam and his miniature puppet of the same name, who speaks French and also loves Rachel. In other words, The Bachelorette will air on Memorial Day because what else are Bachelor Nation fans going to do in the evening? Every Monday is a two-hour affair, which has become a type of ritual for most fans, so skipping one week would feel just wrong.

Like any other week during Bachelorette season (yes, we can call it that now), The Bachelorette will air on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and run for the usual two hours of awkward moments, almost fights, and at the end of it all, the eliminations. The trailer for Season 13 of The Bachelorette showed some drama with an ex, or even current, girlfriend of someone, a potential fight and subsequent injury, and lots of emotion from Rachel and the guys too.

The first cocktail night is always pretty tame, so Week 2 is going to be where things start to get kind of real. Even if it is in the form of some group date that looks more like a physical competition.

This season of The Bachelorette has already been a gift to fans, who not only get to watch a real and down-to-earth woman find love, but a group of diverse men vie for her attention. And in the end, that’s honestly the greatest gift of all.
