How Did Ramsay Bolton Die On 'Game Of Thrones'? It Was Incredibly Satisfying

by Allison Piwowarski

Woof, that was a rough way to go. The moment we've all been waiting for — seriously, I think I was put on this earth for this moment — has finally occurred on Game of Thrones. After seasons of being the absolute worst, Ramsay Bolton is gone forever. After a massacre battle, he died, but how did Ramsay die on Game of Thrones? Let's just say, it was incredibly satisfying...

The Battle of the Bastards was a complete nightmare. It was clustered, and claustrophobic, and really, really bloody. For a hot second, it seemed like Jon Snow was going to die, since he was being trampled by two armies that were basically filleting each other in the most gruesome way. But, our boy Jon was like "Not today, Satan," Satan being Ramsay Bolton, for obvious reasons, and powered through and essentially cornered Ramsay on his own turf, beat him, but didn't kill him. That's right, Jon Snow didn't kill Ramsay.

Instead, it was so much more satisfying. There's no doubt that Jon killing Ramsay would have been great. Like, I would have done a lap around the neighborhood cheering. But, you know what is even more satisfying? Sansa killing Ramsay. And even more satisfying than that? Sansa facilitating Ramsay's death by his own hounds.

After Jon beat Ramsay — almost to the death — Sansa took over, and finished the job. As she should. Aside from having been raped and tortured by Ramsay, Sansa saved the damn day during the battle, so this was her win. So, how did she do it? Well, Ramsay had basically been starving his hounds for a week in preparation of serving them Jon Snow. Since that wasn't going to happen, Sansa turned it around and fed Ramsay to his own hounds. Even though he didn't think they would do it, the pups were hungry, and wasted no time diving right into their dinner. Not to be too graphic, but they started with the face.

Was it gross? Yeah. Was it amazing? Um, absolutely. This has been a long time coming, and to see Ramsay not only die, but at the hands of Sansa and his own hounds? Everything was right in the world, and the death of Rickon stings a little bit less.
