How To Listen To The ‘4:44’ Bonus Tracks

Along with the 10 tracks that make up JAY-Z's new album, 4:44, listeners are also being treated to three bonus tracks. The album itself was first released on the streaming platform Tidal on June 30, remaining exclusive to Tidal members for a week. It has since hit iTunes, but here's how to listen to the 4:44 bonus tracks, because they can be tricky to track down.

Since its release, fans have been scrambling to get their hands (and their ears) on Hov's 13th studio album. In fact, it has already gone platinum. 4:44 has left its TIDAL exclusivity behind and is now available over a few platforms, according to Billboard. Unlike the rest of the album, however, the bonus tracks that were released on July 7 have yet to be made available to purchase on iTunes.

It looks like the only way to hear the bonus tracks in full, unless you're interested in low-quality leaked versions online, is by purchasing a physical copy of the album. Answering the cries of desperate fans everywhere, physical copies of 4:44 hit the shelves on July 7 and are available for purchase in a store near you.

After listeners asked where the bonus track "Adnis" was on the original release of 4:44, JAY-Z's engineer Young Guru took to Twitter to give fans reassurance that they will be able to access "Adnis," along with "a couple other songs," which likely refers to the other two bonus tracks on the album, "Blue's Freestyle/We Family" and "ManyFacedGod."

Originally, the bonus tracks could only be heard on teasers for the visual album. Now, they can be both seen and heard. Billboard reported that they have their own video components. The new videos, including versions of "Adnis" and "ManyFacedGod," will be released at 4:44 p.m. on July 7 over the streaming platform Tidal. The videos for these two tracks will feature the famous faces of Mahershala Ali and Lupita Nyong’o.

The bonus track, "Blue's Freestyle/We Family" includes an impressive and adorable 45-second freestyle by JAY-Z and Beyoncé's 5-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, who has appeared on two of their other songs. In this track, the father-daughter duo rap about family and overcoming obstacles. Though some words in Blue Ivy's freestyle rap are difficult to hear, the words that ring out are surprisingly deep for someone her age. Musical genius must be genetic in that family.

Building on his ever-expanding empire, JAY-Z's bonus tracks show fans that he isn't through creating yet. The release process for 4:44 has been borderline excruciating for those eagerly waiting for access to it. Before the album's release, JAY-Z tantalized the public with cryptic postings of the word "Adnis" around New York City, the name of Hov's father as well as one of his bonus tracks. He then released snippets of songs, leaving listeners begging for more. Are the components being released on July 7 the last trick's up JAY-Z's sleeve? I sure hope not.
