Is The 'Game Of Thrones' Season 7 Plot Leak True? There Are Many Questions To Be Answered

by Caralynn Lippo

While we were all distraught to learn that Game of Thrones Season 7 is a long way off – it's premiering in the summer of 2017, months later than the show's usually-in-April season premieres – some have taken their desire for more GOT to an extreme. This show is no stranger to plot leaks, spoilers, and massively-involved fan theories, but that all pales in comparison to the gigantic plot leak that's made its way across the internet this week. But is the Game of Thrones Season 7 plot leak true? So much information – seriously, just about the entire season's alleged story start to finish – was given away.

There is really no way to know for sure whether all (or even any) of this information is accurate. Much of the spoiler "proof" relies on photos that people have managed to snap while the show is filming on-location around the world. But it's important to remember that that isn't always 100% accurate.

As Entertainment Weekly points out, the showrunners have been dealing with set leaks and spoilers for years now. Par for the course when you have an epic, large-scale show like this that has a huge, probably-unwieldy crew and films largely outside. Last year, they even brought back Sibel Kekilli, who played Tyrion’s murdered (and adulterous) girlfriend Shae, and paraded her around on set, just to throw off Jon-Snow-is-being-resurrected rumors. Plus, there's a whole host of other plot leaks which are based solely on anonymous source reports.

Basically, what I'm saying is: Take all of these supposed plot leaks with a huge grain of salt. And for what it's worth, the cast isn't exactly thrilled about these massive leaks – which sort of seems to indicate that at least some of it might be true.

Moviepilot has assembled a handy breakdown of all of the supposed major Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers – useful, given that many of the anonymous sources who originally posted the spoilers to the subreddit r/freefolk have mysteriously vanished. Click at your own risk, but be aware that massive, gigantic spoilers are at the link.

Because we can't not have any reactions to these possible-reveals, here are the most insane spoilers from the massive info-dump. This is your last chance to turn back if you're not interested in seeing spoilers!

The biggest spoiler points obviously involve Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen who, over the years, have evolved to become the two single most important characters on the show. According to the spoilers (and actual photos leaked from set), they finally meet in Season 7. But this spoiler treasure-trove goes even further – the anonymous source reports that Dany and Jon "get down and dirty on a romantic boat romp." Some people are definitely 'shipping these two, despite the whole aunt-and-nephew thing. Assuming the romp does happen, I can only imagine it happens prior to the reveal of Jon being a Targaryen. Awkward.

Among the other big news "revealed": one of Dany's dragons (Viserion) is turned into an ice dragon (!!) after he's killed in battle and used by the Night King to topple the wall in the closing moments of the Season 7 finale; Cersei miscarries yet another of Jamie's children; Bran and Arya reunite with Sansa in Winterfell (sob); Sansa sentences Littlefinger to death (and tasks Arya with doing the deed); and Bran and Sam figure out Jon's Targaryen parentage.

Phew! That's a lot. Again, we don't know how much of this is accurate – though the Dany/Jon finally meeting bit has been a long time coming, so that is probably really happening in Season 7. In any case, our best bet is to just sit tight and wait for summer 2017, so we can experience all of the Game of Thrones twist-y, epic goodness firsthand.
