Kim Kardashian & Kanye West’s Statement About Baby No. 3 Is Really Sweet

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their third child Tuesday when Kim's surrogate gave birth to a baby girl. Kim took to her app to release their statement about baby no. 3, announcing that she's "healthy" and "beautiful."

Kim said on her app, according to E! Online:

Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl. We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister.

Kim said their baby girl weighs about 7 pounds and 6 ounces. The surrogate, who has remained anonymous, lives in the San Diego area, according to TMZ. Previous reports stated the surrogate would deliver at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, according to Metro — where Kim and Kanye's other two children, North, 4, and Saint, 2, and sister Kourtney Kardashian's children were all born — though that info hasn't yet been confirmed.

Kim gave birth to her firstborn on June 15, 2013 and welcomed her second child on Dec. 5, 2015, according to E!. She confirmed the news that she was growing her family again in late September during a phone call with sister Khloé Kardashian. "What happens every time I say, 'Guess what?'" Kim asked her sister, according to E!. "The person's pregnant?" Khloé responded before Kim announced, "We're having a baby!"

Kim decided to hire a surrogate because of the severe complications she experienced during her previous pregnancies, such as placenta accreta, "a condition where the placenta doesn’t attach from the wall of the womb properly," according to Marie Claire. Kim said of her prior dangerous pregnancies, according to E!:

Every medical issue that you could probably have, I feel like I get, and I worry so much about it. I just don't think pregnancy and me really agree with each other.

Despite having two incredibly difficult pregnancies, Kim said that having a child via surrogate was so much harder because she and Kanye had to pick someone they really trusted and, even then, they weren't completely in control, Entertainment Tonight reported.

On an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians she said, "I think I always knew that surrogacy was an option, but I didn't think it was that realistic of an option, and now I feel like that's my reality." After opting for a surrogate following difficulties conceiving, according to Entertainment Tonight, it really is a reality for the couple.

Fans are taking to Kim's Instagram to share their excitement and congratulate the mom of three. "Congratulations on the birth of your newest bundle of joy!!!! 🍼🍼" one wrote on her latest Instagram photo laying in bed captioned, "good night." Another fan commented, "@kimkardashian Congratulations beautiful can’t wait to see the new cute addition to the fam!!!!" Meanwhile, others are curious about the baby's name and are even offering up suggestions like "Eleanor" or "Elegance" West.

Kimye's daughter will be Kris Jenner’s seventh grandchild after North and Saint, Kourtney’s children Mason, Penelope, and Reign, and Rob Kardashian’s daughter Dream (assuming Kylie hasn't yet given birth to her rumored child...).

While the Kardashian klan keeps on growing, fans are anxiously awaiting pictures. But all we can hope for is that baby no. three is happy and healthy, and mom will share photos in time. Congrats to the growing family.
