Kim Kardashian West's Baby Is Breech, She Reveals In Candid New Blog, & She's Doing Everything She Can To "Turn Him"

by Kenza Moller

In a blog post shared on her website Tuesday, Kim Kardashian West revealed that her baby is breech. While the baby boy should have turned at the 32-week mark, Kardashian West is 36 weeks into her pregnancy and the baby is still facing upwards. Writing the post at 4 a.m. and "a little anxious," Kardashian shared that she is well-prepared for any complications that might arise during the delivery; and her newest post is just the latest candid admission the reality TV star has made about her pregnancy.

Up to 3 to 4 percent of full-term babies are breech, a condition that can be caused by uterine or fetal abnormalities, levels of amniotic fluid, multiple gestation, or the location of the placenta. The term itself refers to the baby's position — in which they are poised to come out feet first, or butt first, as opposed to head first, according to What To Expect. Kardashian West has already shared that she's struggled with a retained placenta, which was a cause for concern during her second pregnancy, and recently divulged concerns about gestational diabetes.

Despite her baby's breech position, Kardashian West is still hoping to avoid a C-section. "Obviously, if it's an emergency and for the safety of my son, I will get a C-section," she wrote. "But if I don't need one, I'd rather not." Luckily, there are options to either encourage the baby to turn pre-delivery, or to deliver a breech baby without a C-section. Kardashian West herself has tried everything from seeking chiropractic help to hypnosis. She says she will try external cephalic version, or ECV, to turn the baby's breech position. It's a procedure that can be painful, but has shown results.

Kardashian West has been very open and honest about her pregnancy in recent months, which can be pretty reassuring to other moms-to-be who may be going through their own private pregnancy struggles. In her usual candid way, Kardashian West admitted, "This whole delivery gives me anxiety, not gonna lie. I hope the baby turns and all goes well but I'm prepared for anything!"

Here's hoping that all goes well for Kardashian West's upcoming delivery — the world doesn't have long to wait to welcome North West's new sibling.
