Lawsuit Alleges Donald Trump Raped A Teen Girl In 1994 & Further Complicates The Election

Donald Trump is currently under the watchful eye of just about everyone as the days creep closer to the Republican and Democratic National Conventions in July and the Presidential Election this November. Now, more than ever, the candidates' personal histories have begun to rear their respective heads again and again in campaign conversations. On Tuesday, June 21, a newly filed lawsuit alleged that Donald Trump raped a teen girl in 1994, causing many to question the validity of those claims and further complicating what was already a tangled election cycle.

According to The New York Daily News, the woman behind the lawsuit alleged that Trump, along with hedge fund manager and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, "sexually assaulted an underage girl at a series of Manhattan sex parties Epstein hosted in 1994." According to Death and Taxes, the court filing also states that Trump allegedly "initiated sexual contact with the Plaintiff at four different parties" and included many more alleged details. Trump's team did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the reappearance of the allegations in a Manhattan Court.

If this case sounds familiar to those keeping up with Trump, they're not imagining things. In late April of this year, the same woman filed the same lawsuit in a California court. According to Radar Online, the original lawsuit was filed by the woman without legal representation who was suing Trump and Epstein for $100 million.

Now, the woman has legal representation and has filed the suit in a Manhattan Federal Court. According to The New York Daily News, the new lawsuit claims that the woman remains traumatized by the abuse to this day.

"Immediately following this rape, Defendant Trump threatened me that, were I ever to reveal any of the details of Defendant Trump’s sexual and physical abuse of me, my family and I would be physically harmed if not killed," the woman stated in her recent filing. A Trump Organization spokesman told the outlet that the allegations were "categorically untrue, completely fabricated and politically motivated."

The original case that was filed in California was dismissed by a judge. In early May, according to Radar Online, the lawsuit was thrown out by a U.S. District Judge claiming the Plaintiff "failed to state a claim for relief" on a civil rights basis. Hence why the lawsuit is showing up again, this time in Manhattan.

When the first lawsuit was filed back in April, Trump was not happy about it, telling Radar Online:

The allegations are not only categorically false, but disgusting at the highest level and clearly framed to solicit media attention or, perhaps, are simply politically motivated. There is absolutely no merit to these allegations. Period.

According to Alternet, two other women, one of which was Trump's ex-wife Ivana, have accused Trump of alleged abuse over the years.

This even further complicates the election. During this critical time when every action made by the party's candidates comes under fire, a new lawsuit with allegations of abuse does not make the election any smoother. It is clear that the woman in the lawsuit, however, is adamant about her case — and only time will tell if she has the grounds to move forward.
