Pink's Perfectly Unique Push Present From Carey Hart

There is nothing like a partner who gets you. Really, nothing. A partner who appreciates you, particularly after you've had a baby, is a gift of it's own. But a partner who gives you an amazing gift after you've given birth to a human? Yes. All of that, yes. This is why I have a newfound fondness for Carey Hart. Because Hart's push present to Pink, one of my most favorite human beings on the planet, clearly spoke to the woman she actually is at this moment — not to the type of mother he thinks she ought to be.

The Grammy award-winning singer and Hart, a former motocross racing champion, have two adorable children together: 6-year-old daughter Willow and baby son Jameson, who was born in December. While a push present has become popular in recent years (a gift given to a new mother after she's given birth as a sign of gratitude), few push presents look like this one. As a gesture of his appreciation for his partner and child, Hart decided to build Pink her own custom motorcycle. Because spa days are awesome, but Hart obviously knew that wouldn't be for Pink. The "Just Like Fire" singer shared a snapshot of her present on Instagram with the caption:

Thanks @hartluck for the push present. I give you babies and you build me motorcycles. Some girls like diamonds, I like heavy metal and carbon-fiber and chrome.

The couple have been together for more than 15 years, with the odd little break-up in between (they split up for about a year in 2008 and 2011, according to Us Weekly). And while it hasn't always been necessarily been smooth sailing, they are clearly loving the whole parenting gig. Whether Pink is sharing family photos from a spring break getaway or Hart is bringing baby "Jamo" to work with him, they're all in.

It seems that Hart and Pink have struck a bargain that works out perfectly for them. As Pink wrote on Instagram: "I give you babies and you build me motorcycles."

Carey Hart understands his wife. He isn't trying to make her fit into a box, the one that says "Mom" but doesn't take into account the person Pink was before she had babies. His push present to her might have been a super cool custom motorcycle, but it ended up being more than that. It was proof that he understood and embraced the woman she was, not just the mother she has become. That Pink the woman and Pink the mom get to coexist, without expectations.

And now I want a motorcycle, too.
