Police Helped This Little Girl Search For Monsters & The Video Is Too Cute To Handle

After a thorough search, authorities are fairly certain that there are no monsters in Longmont, Colorado. Just to be sure, police helped this little girl search for monsters in her house, and they checked in more places than just under the bed. And once you see the video footage of their "monster hunt" you might just need a second to recover from how cute it all was.

Adorable 4-year-old Sidney Fahrenbruch was a bit worried that her new house was home to frightening monsters. She told her local news station that is was, “Well, cause I heard sounds when people weren’t up." Sidney was afraid that the monsters would come out while she and her family were sleeping and hurt them. Her mother says she was never worried about monsters before moving into the new house, but we all know that change can be scary.

Obviously this called for a Zak Bagans-worthy ghost adventure, but Sidney didn't want to take on the monsters on her own. In an effort to find out what was going bump in the night, she went to the police. When Sidney met officer David Bonday at a community event, she asked for his help with her monster problem. In true "protect and serve" fashion, Bonday agreed to help out – even though he claimed to have no prior monster hunting experience.

Officer Bonday came to the Fahrenbruch's home on Sunday with his handy monster-hunting flashlight. He lent the flashlight to Sidney and they commenced their search. (Check out the full video over on Facebook.)

The pair was very thorough, Bonday in particular. Sidney's mom outlined their course of action to the press:

She just checked under the couch, but he wanted to make sure there weren’t any under the couch cushions. And then they ended up going in the front yard to make sure there was no monster activity in the front yard.

Sidney seemed to enjoy the search. She told a reporter that the search for monsters was “like you are doing a real hunt, like a ghost hunt.” After inspecting every inch of the house, the two declared it to be monster free.

Aside from reassurance that her home was safe, Sidney gained a lot from the search. Her mother said,

It’s just amazing the confidence he’s given her. We’re truly grateful to live in a town where the police officer will pay a kid any attention.

Needless to say, Sidney is a fan of her local police department. She has her own police uniform which she wears often. When that is in the wash, she dons a variety of t-shirts from police departments in the area. Sidney is also a frequent visitor at the Longmont Police Department, where she comes to thank the officers for their service and spend time with Bonday, who she calls her "best friend" (I'm not crying, you're crying).

According to her mother:

She has brought them candy at Halloween, pies at Thanksgiving, cookies at Christmastime. She wants to grow up and be a cop and help other people find monsters as well.

If the all-girls Ghostbusters team is looking for recruits, it should be sure to stop by Longmont and have a chat with Sidney. With her bestie, Bonday, by her side, she is definitely up to the task.
