Ryan Reynolds Trolled Blake Lively In The Best Way For Her Birthday

A good romance is built on a good friendship. When you see one working, it's hard not to crack a smile for the happy couple. One great example? The way Ryan Reynolds trolled Blake Lively for her 30th birthday, teasing his wife just enough to not seem like a total jerk. Reynolds posted a picture of him and Lively on the red carpet together and captioned it, "Happy Birthday to my amazing wife." Sounds nice enough, right? Well, the picture was mainly him in the foreground with most of Lively's body cropped out. LOL.

These two are all about the jokes and Lively's no innocent, either. In April, for example, she posted a picture from a John Legend concert, with the camera focused on Reynolds. The former Gossip Girl star captioned the picture:

Congratulations to the most influential person in my life. The best man I know... you deserve this @time 100 honor ... If only my husband wasn't blocking you in this shot. I'm so sorry @johnlegend.

You have to admit that's pretty funny, and a nice change from all the sappy, lovey-dovey stuff celebs (and our IRL friends) post about their loved ones and children and pets on a daily basis. Way to shake things up, you two lovebirds.

Reynolds is known for being hilarious on social media, especially when it comes to his parenting tweets. Like the one about going to Disney world because his daughter's obsessed with it and not taking her at all? He is the king of Dad Jokes. But Lively recently told Glamour that it's all BS. (We sort of assumed that his daughters got to go to Disney with him, of course.) She said in a cover story interview about his tweets.

He may as well work for the Enquirer. When he says “my daughter,” he’s never, ever talking about her. Everything is a completely made-up scenario. He’ll run them by me sometimes just to make me laugh. But oh, I’m so in love with him when he writes that stuff. I mean, I’m in love with him most of the time, but especially with that.

At least Lively's also honest about how relationships IRL work. Marriage isn't always rainbows and unicorns. She elaborated, "There’s never a time when I’m like, “I don’t really love you.”

It's hard to believe that Lively is just turning 30 years old. Not only has she been on our TV and movie screens forever, but her and Reynolds are the parents of two little girls. And for all of Reynolds' jokes, he gets it. Lively said he's super conscious about the language he uses around his daughters:

But with my husband, I’m lucky to have someone who is so conscious. My husband was like, “Why do I always say he?” And I said, “That’s what we’re taught.” So he’ll pick up, like a caterpillar, and instead of saying, “What’s his name?” he’ll say, “What’s her name?” Or we’ve joked that my daughter is bossy. But my husband said, “I don’t ever want to use that word again. You’ve never heard a man called bossy.”

It's good to know that Lively and Reynolds know how to laugh and get serious. Hopefully, she'll get him good when his birthday rolls around, too.
