Target Has A New Line Of Lisa Frank Pajamas...For Adults

by Laura Hankin

Ah, the '90s. A simpler time. If you're a millennial aching to travel back to the golden age of grunge and Nickelodeon, you're in luck because, now, there's a line of Lisa Frank pajamas at Target. So hop into a brightly-colored sleep set with a unicorn on it, queue up an episode of Hey Arnold!, and let the good old nostalgia kick in.

If you're a '90s child, chances are you drove your parents crazy asking for Lisa Frank Trapper Keepers, pens, and butterfly erasers to spice up your school life. But you're an adult now, and you can buy your own stuff! (Hopefully.) The Target website features a plethora of options, covered with Frank's signature designs. There are long sleep shirts with images of dolphins, big-eyed tigers, and gigantic unicorns printed on them, as well as sleep sets patterned in rainbows and lip prints. Many of the pajama options come in plus sizes too, and nothing is over $20, so you could potentially get yourself a whole set without breaking the bank. Are the prints so psychedelic and visually stimulating that they'll mess with your calming sleep environment, reactivate your insomnia, and keep you up all night? Who knows? Who cares! It's Lisa Frank!

Target isn't the first to cash in on the nostalgia for all things Lisa. Urban Outfitters previously created a line of limited edition Lisa Frank stickers, and then moved onto offering a whole bunch of Lisa Frank products and clothes for grown-ups.

There have also been Lisa Frank make-up tutorials, for people who want their faces to scream "I LOVE THE '90s!" without making a sound, plus an official Lisa Frank make-up line in collaboration with Glamour Dolls. And you can dye your hair in Lisa Frank-inspired colors, if you really want to go all out. Then all you need to do is throw on a choker, walk around singing some Blink 182, and respond to all mentions of Donald Trump with "Oh, the guy from Home Alone 2?" and you just might manage to convince strangers on the street that you're a time traveler.

It's exciting to see Frank getting back in the retail game, after a slew of articles hit the internet a few years ago with headlines like "The Colorful World of Lisa Frank Goes Silent," alleging that she had "essentially disappeared" after legal battles over her company.

After all, it's clear from the response to Target's new line that the children of the '90s and the grown-ups of today have missed her dearly.
