The 'Big Brother 19' Cast Has Finally Been Revealed!

by Megan Walsh

Big Brother is just about to embark on its 19th season of cramming people with opposing personalities into one house and watching them battle it out for a flashy $500k reward at the end of it all. Every year the new (or returning) castmates bring their own share of surprises, but now that the Big Brother 19 cast has been officially announced, it looks like this might be a particularly tough group to predict. Since none of the cast members are returning from a previous season, there's no way to have any preconceived notions about them.

Another notable quality of the new group of 16 contestants is that they're slightly older than the usual: only five of them are younger than 25, and six are over 30. One contestant is the third oldest ever at 55 years old. Could this lead to a more level-headed house that handles disagreements with polite maturity? Don't count on it, though it could change the dynamics in an interesting way.

Who will join forces with who? Who among the cast won't be able to stand each other? Who will end up in an audience-pleasing showmance? There's no telling yet how this group will break down, but taking a look at the new contestants can let you theorize until Season 19 premieres on June 28.

Cameron Heard

Bill Inoshita/CBS

In his bio, microbiologist Cameron compares himself to past contestant Ian Terry, giving fans a glimpse of his personality in the process: "I think I like [Ian] so much because he's a lot like me. He is nerdy and has giant love for the game, he's smart and seems fun in real life."

Christmas Abbott

Bill Inoshita/CBS

Christmas, in addition to being named Christmas, is a self-described "fitness superstar." Characterized as committed, happy, and influential, she sounds like she could be useful in an alliance.

Cody Nickson

Bill Inoshita/CBS

Cody is a construction sales rep who describes himself as charming and sweet, though he goes on to rhapsodize about Evel Dick's ability to "be a d*ckhead" and still take it all the way to the end. Maybe a sign Cody won't be all that sweet?

Elena Davies

Bill Inoshita/CBS

Elena is a radio personality who refers to herself as both "abrasive" and "charming," which sounds like it could have... interesting results. (Will someone explain the concept of antonyms to her? Tune in to find out, I guess.)

Jason Dent

Bill Inoshita/CBS

Jason is a rodeo clown from Iowa, which I suppose explains the neckerchief. Kidding! Nothing wrong with being jaunty.

Jillian Parker

Bill Inoshita/CBS

According to her bio, Jillian is bubbly, funny, and truthful — qualities that could either help or hinder her in the competition.

Alex Ow

Bill Inoshita/CBS

In Alex's bio, she says that while she may look "cute and cuddly" like past contestant Nicole Franzel, she's here for one thing: to win.

Mark Jansen

Bill Inoshita/CBS

Mark is a personal trainer and fan of Brendon Villegas, specifically for his "it's me and my girl vs. the house" perspective. It's possible that admiration could be a clue that Mark will also be down for a showmance.

Matthew Clines

Bill Inoshita/CBS

A home renovation consultant, Matthew says that he is "fun, competitive, and silly," which could mean he'll inject some levity into the competition.

Megan Lowder

Bill Inoshita/CBS

Confident Megan cites her smarts and cunning as qualities that may give her an edge in the Big Brother house.

Raven Walton

Bill Inoshita/CBS

Dance teacher Raven describes herself as quirky and bubbly, and she's a fan of Frankie Grande because of how much fun he was.

Dominique Cooper

Bill Inoshita/CBS

Government engineer Dominique is not just optimistic but "uber" optimistic, as well as energetic and determined. That could be just the right winning combination to take her far in the competition.

Jessica Graf

Bill Inoshita/CBS

VIP Concierge Jessica doesn't give a lot away in her brief show bio, but she does describe herself as "honest, loud, and loyal."

Josh Martinez

Bill Inoshita/CBS

Josh's choice of Evel Dick as his favorite past contestant could give viewers a hint at his in-house strategies: "Overall he was himself, spoke his mind and did not give a sh*t about being on anyone's good side. I see a lot of of his game play in the way I will play."

Kevin Schlehuber

Bill Inoshita/CBS

Stay-at-home dad Kevin is the oldest contestant in the house, and this Boston native seems to be angling for a House Dad kind of vibe: he says he's caring, humorous, and charismatic. Let the dad jokes commence.

Ramsess Soto

Bill Inoshita/CBS

Ramsess is a cosplay artist, which is apparently a job that someone can have. Maybe that ability to transform himself will prove useful in the house?

With a group this varied, Season 19 is definitely going to be intriguing and I, for one, look forward to seeing how this all plays out. Let the competition begin!
