Your Astrological Predictions For 2017

It's true: Your zodiac sign plays a part in how you can live your best life, from which sex position you should try to identifying your dream career goals. Romper partnered with astrologer Maressa Brown to share how every sign can put the current astrological aspects to work and enjoy even more happiness, wellness, and love every week. Here, she tackles the major astrological predictions for each sign in 2017.

Whether you make an annual ritual out of setting New Year's resolutions or you're not a fan of the tradition, the start of a new calendar year is an opportunity to reflect on what you've accomplished over the past 12 months and what you want to achieve in the days and weeks ahead. It's easy to get overwhelmed by all of the goals you want to reach, or feel like one in particular is particularly intimidating.

Considering what's going to happen in the sky during the next year can shed some light on how your year may play out and how you can best harness the power of the stars to make your dreams come true.

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

Tina Gong/Romper

Fun-loving times with your partner or your kids are a key highlight you'll enjoy this year, thanks to two eclipses occurring in your fifth house, which rules romance and children. The first is a full moon eclipse on Feb. 10, and the second is a new moon eclipse on Aug. 21. In February, ending one pattern in your love life may be an emotional experience, but it opens the door for even more happiness and new beginnings in August. Embracing spontaneity and going with the flow — around these dates in particular — can lead to your most romantic fantasies becoming a reality.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

Tina Gong/Romper

For 10 months out of the coming year, you'll have luck on your side if you want to rework or refine your day-to-day schedule and/or wellness strategy. That's because fortuitous Jupiter is in your sixth house, which rules routines and health, until Oct. 10. So, if you've been considering simply switching up your work situation, so you can enjoy better work-life balance, or you want to take on a more challenging workout or healthy eating plan, try to figure that out before the fall, and you'll be unstoppable.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Tina Gong/Romper

Prepare to face a challenge in your love life that you thought you had already tackled and laid to rest while Saturn — which is associated with discipline and boundary-setting in order to promote maturity — is retrograde in your seventh house of partnership from April 6 to Aug. 25. You may have to work like never before to get on the same page when it comes to how you co-parent or communicate with one another, but ultimately, being patient and putting your nose to the grindstone will pay off.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

Tina Gong/Romper

You tend to seek financial stability for the sake of security — for yourself, but also for your loved ones, because family life is everything to you. So, exciting news: You'll have not one but two big chances to boost your cash flow this year, thanks to a full moon eclipse in your second house of income on Feb. 10 and then, a new moon eclipse in that same house on Aug. 21. The name of the game is being bold, brave, passionate, and confident about your game plan for bringing in those paychecks. So, go for that gig you usually wouldn't apply for, or follow your heart if it it's really in your side hustle as opposed to your full-time job — and rewards will follow.

Leo (July 23 - Aug. 22)

Ting Gong/Romper

You know that personal goal you've been talking about for years now, but waiting for "The Perfect Time" to tackle? You'd be wise to take it off the back burner and finally go for it this year, because you've got the sky above offering up two positive, opportunity-spurring aspects: a full moon eclipse on Feb. 10 and a new moon eclipse on Aug. 21. In February, you may have to close one chapter and feel rather emotional about it, but rest assured that it's for the best, and you're on your way to being even more in sync with your destiny. And in August, you'll start down a whole new path — whatever you dream, you can do.

Virgo (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22)

Tina Gong/Romper

You're bound to be spending even more time with loved ones and deepening your bond with your partner this year, especially around May 19 and Nov. 11. On both of those days, Saturn — associated with challenging lessons that spur personal growth — in your fourth house of home life forms a positive trine to change-making Uranus, which is currently in your eighth house of emotional and sexual intimacy. You may find innovative ways to squeeze in more one-on-one time. (Maybe your sister-in-law or cousin would be thrilled to babysit more often. Or you're able to flex time your work schedule.) Even if these bliss-spurring solutions pop up out of the blue, trust. You deserve the break.

Libra (Sept. 23 - Oct. 22)

Tina Gong/Romper

You may be frustrated if you feel like you can't seem to catch a break in the love department in the spring. That's because your key planet, Venus, will be retrograde from March 4 to April 15 — and up until April 3, it'll be stalling matters in your seventh house of partnership. If you're attached, remembering what brought you together with your partner in the first place and practicing gratitude for the most basic bonding moments (like prepping dinner together or snuggling on the couch after putting the baby down, etc.) helps you navigate this rough patch. If you're single, reflecting on a past relationship may give you a refreshing new perspective that makes it easier to move forward and make a magical connection this year.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 - Nov. 21)

Tina Gong/Romper

If you've been itching for higher-ups at work to recognize your talents and bestow well-deserved accolades for your efforts, you'll get your due this year, thanks to two significant eclipses in your tenth house of career: the first, a lunar eclipse, on Feb. 10, and the second, a solar eclipse on Aug. 21. Around these dates, you'll do well to have faith in your abilities, pitch your most ambitious ideas, and you'll get that promotions, raise, or unique opportunity you've been gunning for. And later in the year, you'll get even more of a cosmic boost that supports you in achieving your ultimate success: On Oct. 10, Jupiter — which rules expansion and self-confidence — moves into your sign, where it remains until November 2018.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 - Dec. 21)

Tina Gong/Romper

You may struggle with setting boundaries and standing up for your needs while Saturn — which is associated with discipline and hard work that can lead to maturity — is retrograde in your sign from April 6 to Aug. 25. This may be related to a lesson from the past that you'll need to re-learn, but it's all for a good reason: to get know yourself better and feel more confident going after perfected personal goals. And once Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion, is in your twelfth house of spirituality from Oct. 10 to Nov. 2018, you'll be even more driven to dream big and figuring out exactly where you want to go.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 - Jan. 19)

Tina Gong/Romper

If you've been thinking about going back to school or expanding your skill set through travel or other experiences, you'll get a nudge in that direction while Jupiter is retrograde in your tenth house of career from Feb. 6 to June 9. This period will truly test whether you're on the right path professionally, if you need to step it up in order to achieve your goals, or if you might want to head down a completely different path. Thinking positively and trusting your intuition especially now helps you figure it out. And on Dec. 19, Saturn — which promotes lessons learned through hard work — moves into your sign for a two year stay, and you'll begin a whole new chapter of self-improvement and self-awareness.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 - Feb. 18)

Exciting changes in your relationship are about to occur, thanks to two powerful eclipses in your seventh house of partnership this year. The first is a lunar eclipse, on Feb. 10, and the second is a solar eclipse, on Aug. 21. You may initially be resistant and feel emotionally overwhelmed by one door closing in February, but this ending lays the groundwork for fresh start that you'll be aware of and at peace with by August. This could mean you and your partner take your bond to the next level, moving in together or trying for another little one. Or it may mean moving on and finding a relationship that better suits who you are now than who you once were. Either way, self-confidence and remembering that you deserve love helps you navigate this path.

Pisces (Feb. 19 - March 20)

You'll want to explore advantages of going in on an investment with your partner or another loved one. Or perhaps, you'll deepen your commitment and intertwine your lives in another way (buy property, start a business, or even having a baby together). That's because Jupiter, which rules expansion and luck, is in your eighth house of emotional bonds and shared resources for most of the year. Your intuition is on-point during this time, so if a big move feels right in your gut, go for it. Then, once the big picture planet moves into your ninth house of adventure on Oct. 10, you'll be focused on opportunities for long-distance travel and broadening your skill set through higher education until November 2018.
