The One Thing You Could Do To Improve Your Kissing Game

by Lindsay E. Mack

Just in case you need a reminder, kissing is one of the most pleasant activities you can ever enjoy. It can be fun and flirty or deep and passionate, depending on your mood. Chances are, it's been a hot minute since you last read about how to be a better kisser, but taking your smooching abilities to the next level is no problem at all. In fact, the one thing you could do to improve your kissing game is simple and accessible to anyone.

The key idea? Make out like you mean it. According to Psychology Today, men and women alike value assertiveness in a kiss. This doesn't mean mashing your face into your partner's with full force. Simply showing some enthusiasm and commitment in your kiss can go a long way. After all, few things are a bigger turn-off than partners who are half-hearted or outright disinterested in the kiss.

Clearly, most partners appreciate a little show of passion from their significant other. And it's important not to let outdated gender roles get in the way of a good time. "Men absolutely love it when women take control of the kiss," said clinical sexologist Ava Cadell, Ph.D., in Cosmopolitan. After all, who doesn't love to feel desired? Additionally, Time magazine reiterates this same information, by advising women to simply stop holding back and take the initiative from time to time. Sometimes making the first move, whether it's your first date or tenth wedding anniversary, can help your partner feel desired and desirable.

Think about the standout kisses from your own romantic past. Were they blasé and disinterested, or filled with that can't-get-enough-of-you passion? Consider what made your best kisses so wonderful, and bring that same energy to your current partner. Hey, the ability to act with confidence is just about the most sexy quality in the world.

So the next time you're ready to go in for a kiss, see what happens when you confidently approach your SO and put the moves on. Odds are, your partner will be thrilled by your assertive kissing skills. After all, most everyone loves to feel irresistibly kissable sometimes.
