The Rock's Feminist Parenting Goals Are Amazing

Obviously, to know the Rock (or, you know, see him in a movie or on a talk show) is to love the Rock — but this week, he gave the world a whole new reason to adore him. On Instagram on Wednesday, the Rock outlined his feminist parenting goals for his 1-year-old daughter alongside a picture of them together, and it was easily the sweetest thing on the Internet all week. (The Rock's daughter, Jasmine, was a bit too preoccupied with a bug on the ground to really take her dad's words in, but the rest of us thought it was pretty damn great.)

"There are mornings in life where there are no words.. this is not one of those mornings," the Rock wrote. "Jazzy, let daddy tell you his goals."

He outlined his feminist parenting goals by his daughter's age:

By 5, you'll be looking people in the eye when you firmly shake their hand. By 8, you'll know how to fish, drive daddy's pick up truck and do cardio. And by 10, you'll be able to directly say to people, "Great job, I like it a lot, but let's see how we can make it better". Helluva plan right sweetheart?

Jasmine's response, the Rock wrote, was pointing at a bug on the ground and saying "Buh!" Ah, yes, successful talk, Jasmine.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, 44, has two daughters — 16-month-old Jasmine and 15-year-old Simone — and a whole lot of respect for women, routinely paying homage to the important women in his life, from his daughter to his grandma. On International Women's Day, he shared a collage of pictures that included his daughters on Instagram and wrote:

Not a day goes by where I don't think about the women in my life, shake my head and consider myself the luckiest SOB on earth. I come from a family of beautiful, strong, diverse and intelligent women. They inspire and challenge me daily to become a better man, father and role model. My love and respect for them is boundless. The world's a better place because of you and I'm a very grateful man to be by your sides.

It looks like the Rock is working hard to raise feminist girls that are confident in their opinions and happy to speak up. Can we just copy his feminist parenting goals, please? Except for maybe that bit about teaching Jasmine how to drive by age 8. That sounds a little dangerous.
