Tweets & Jokes About Man Bun Ken Are Gold

So it turns out that 2017 is basically the worst time ever to be a grown up lady. First, there's Wonder Woman. Sure, I loved the movie as an adult, but what would I have given to see it as a kid? Then, there are all the new Mattel Ken and Barbie dolls. There's petite Barbie, curvy Barbie, "dad bod" Ken, and everyone's new favorite, "man bun Ken." What wouldn't you give to be a kid with those options, I ask you? Instead of playing with the new dolls, at least we get to enjoy these amazing tweets and jokes about man bun Ken. It's something, I guess.

On Tuesday, Mattel announced it would be adding 15 new versions of the Ken doll to the Barbie Fashionista line. There are now seven new skin tones, three new body types, and eight new hairstyles available for Ken, his first major makeover since 1961. Lisa McKnight, senior vice president and general manager for the Barbie brand, said in a press release:

By continuing to expand our product line, we are redefining what a Barbie or Ken doll looks like to this generation. Evolving Ken was a natural evolution for the brand and allows girls to further personalize the role they want him to play in Barbie’s world.

We love all of the new looks for Ken, of course, but the man bun seems to have ignited a spark on the internet. Why?

We All Have A Man Bun Ken IRL

You know who I mean. That lovely hipster in your life. And he's got lots of feelings about lots of things, guys.

Think of the accessories!

Mattel could really open up a market based on possible man bun Ken accessories alone, and Twitter has some ideas about that. Ideas that might sound familiar to those of us with a real man bun Kens in our lives.

He Might Have Some Ideas To Share

It's probably a good thing man bun Ken hasn't mastered the internet, because all of this negativity would probably really throw his chakras out of whack.

Thank you, Mattel, for giving kids more diverse ways to play. To see the color of their skin, the shape of their bodies, and the bodies of the people they love represented in their toys is incredibly important to kids. Man bun Ken included... because you know he would include you, right? Man bun Ken is all about inclusion.
