What Does Jill Duggar Plan To Name Her Baby?

Jill (Duggar) and Derick Dillard, of TLC's reality television show Counting On, are expecting another baby soon. They've previously announced that this new baby is expected to be a boy, and now, fans have been given a pretty big clue as to what the couple is going to name their newborn. What does Jill Duggar Dillard plan to name her baby? Her husband's Twitter bio gives a huge hint at the moniker they may have chosen.

Derick Dillard's Twitter account bio appeared to have been updated according to several sources, including a Duggar fan page on Facebook. Derick's Twitter bio now reads:

I seek to glorify my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with my whole life. Husband to @jillmdillard; papa to Israel David and Samuel Scott. Go Pokes!

So unless they're just using the name Samuel Scott as a placeholder, which is of course possible, it sounds like Derick has revealed the name of his second son with little fanfare.

But other sources say this isn't the first time the reality TV couple has used the name Samuel in regards to their unborn baby. Cafe Mom pointed out back in mid-April that Jill had recently shared the following on their family blog, "The pregnancy is going well thus far, as we make it into the home stretch now. Little 'Samuelito' (as the locals call him) sometimes wakes mommy up at night now with his active kicking."

The Hollywood Gossip reported on the same blog post back in April as well, and noted that "it's in keeping with Jill and Derick's habit of choosing names that reflect their faith." OK! Magazine reported that Samuel was a prophet in the bible, so it would certainly align with that sentiment.

The Hollywood Gossip noted that Jill doesn't seem as secretive about family news as some of her family, but that some of her more recent updates have been more limited. The site speculated that that's probably because Jill, Derick, and their first son, Israel, have been in South America performing missionary work, so they may be busy, or internet connections may be spotty.

But People noted that when Jill was asked about staying in Central America for their mission versus a return to their family home in Arkansas before this second child's birth, she said "we will come back for the birth of the baby.” And since Jill's sister, Joy-Anna Duggar, got married recently and Jill attended as the matron of honor, it sounds like Jill and her family are almost definitely back here until the baby's birth.

In another People article, the piece only suggested that Samuelito is what Jill's "pals" are calling the baby, and only posed the question of whether the name given in Jill's blog post is really the one she and Derick plan to use for their second son when he's born. But it's not like they're using a cutesy nickname like Peanut, and it would be a little odd to have a given name like that picked out and used in a blog post if it's temporary.

Plus, Derick's Twitter bio seems pretty definitive. Duggar fans will just have to wait and see whether it's true, and whether Jill and Derick's next child is indeed named Samuel Scott when he's born.
