What Happened To 'The Mighty Ducks' Cast? Take A Look At The Team Now

by Meg Kehoe

When bad boy lawyer Gordon Bombay gets a DUI while living his corporate, childless, and slightly uptight life, his world is turned upside down. After being sentenced to coach a peewee hockey league (because that's the natural thing to do when someone gets a DUI, is to put them in charge of a large group of rowdy children), he turns a ragtag bunch of misfits into the best hockey team your childhood had ever seen, The Mighty Ducks. Believe it or not, that was 24 years ago. So what happened to The Mighty Ducks cast?

Many of the actors returned to the series for D2: The Mighty Ducks, where Coach Bombay gets offered a job to coach Team USA's hockey team for the Junior Goodwill Games in California. But after that, most of your beloved Ducks flew in separate directions. Some of the Ducks made their way into other classic '90s flicks of your childhood, making you quack whenever you saw them on screen. Some went on to spin their brief dance with childhood stardom into fully fledged adult Hollywood careers. And some decided that they'd never quite top being a Duck, and went on to live their lives outside of the spotlight. Read on to find where The Mighty Ducks are now.

Oh, Charlie Conway. As the unofficial team leader, he stole your heart and every once in a while, stole an awesome shot on the rink. Joshua Jackson played the young, impressionable Conway, and went on to have arguably the most successful career of anyone in The Mighty Ducks history. From Dawson's Creek, to The Skulls, to Fringe, to his current gig as Cole Lockhart on The Affair, Jackson has appeared in more than 30 films since his starring role in The Mighty Ducks according to his IMDB page. He's also been dating actress Diane Kruger since 2006, and Elle reported that the couple moved in together in March 2016.

Beloved Goldberg, the goalie who always leaking gas, was played by Shaun Weiss. He went on to star in Heavyweights with a few of his other Duck comrades, but since, things haven't been going so well. After a failed Kickstarter campaign to relaunch his career in 2014, and a restraining order from his ex-girlfriend in 2013, it's safe to say that remembering Weiss as Goldberg is a little easier than following up with him today.

4

Matt Doherty

Matt Doherty played good ole Lester Averman, the natural jokester of the Ducks who spent most of his time practicing his material rather than playing hockey. Doherty has since graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in theater, and has appeared in a number of television shows including Grey's Anatomy, Bones, Boston Public, and even scored a small role in the Academy Award winning flick Argo.

After a break from the entertainment industry, Schwartz returned to play the doorman Vanya, who Dorota falls in love with on Gossip Girl, and you would barely recognize him. Schwartz grew into his lovable chub very, very well.

As young Terry, who wasn't afraid to put Coach Bombay on the spot for his terrible coaching skills at the beginning of the movie. After a series of small roles here and there, Smollett landed a starring role on Empire playing Jamal Lyon. He's been putting his rejuvenated fame to good use, talking openly to Ellen about his sexuality, and creating a platform for discussion surrounding being comfortable in your own skin, and proud of who you are.

9

Brandon Adams

Brandon Adams played Jesse Hall, the young and outspoken Duck who was protective of his team. His career took off after his role in The Mighty Ducks, scoring roles in The Sandlot, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Sister Sister, and Boy Meets World, but since, Adams seems to have taken a step out of the spotlight.

Garette Ratliff Henson

Garette Ratliff Henson (pictured left) appeared alongside his real life brother Elden Henson as Guy Germaine, a skilled hockey player on the Ducks. Though he wasn't a huge character, his storyline revealed that he was dating Connie, played by Marguerite Moreau. Though he had a few roles after The Mighty Ducks, Henson has proved to be more interested in filmmaking than acting. Since 2009, he's directed five short films.

11

Jane Plank

One of only two girls on the original team, Jane Plank played figure skater Tammy. Though she's stepped off screen since her time as a Duck, she's stepped into a different facet of entertainment — music. Plank is a singer-songwriter in the Minneapolis area.
