'Veep' Season 7 Will Bring The Whole Team Back

by Zakiya Jamal

It seems almost unbelievable that Veep has already been on for six seasons, but alas, it's true. The show has seen former Senator Selina Meyer (then turned vice president, then president) come a long way throughout the series, along with her staff — and the show seems to only get better and better with each passing season. It's no surprise then, that fans are already wondering when does Veep Season 7 premiere? The hit political comedy has already been renewed for another season, but it's much too early to know the exact release date. However, every former season has kicked off in April, so it feels safe to assume Season 7 will begin airing in April 2018.

Though the whole cast's contracts were up after Season 6, Deadline has reported that everyone has decided to return for at least one more year. The whole cast, including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Anna Chlumsky, Tony Hale, Reid Scott, Timothy Simmons, and Matt Walsh have all signed one-year contracts with HBO. That means the whole team will be back to continue to wreak havoc in Washington, D.C.

Season 6 saw a lot of ups and downs for Selina and her staff, so one has to wonder where they'll all go from here.

Leading up to the finale, Selina's secrets were spilled in the press because Mike left his diary at the Washington Post office. (Classic Mike!) However, the release of the diary also revealed that she was the one who was really behind the China-Tibet deal, so it was a lose-win situation. Even so, things got more dicey when it was revealed that the Post knows about her data breach, which is so illegal.

While it seems doubtful Selina will be heading to jail in the Season 6 finale, you really never know with this show. Meanwhile, Jonah was having a terrible time. After getting a circumcision so he could marry Shawnee sooner, his Uncle Jeff arrived at the hospital to tell him he's off the ballot. Naturally, Shawnee then promptly dumped him.

Also, Selina's daughter, Catherine, has an incompetent cervix and was rushed to the hospital at the end of the episode. Hopefully, it'll end up being revealed that the baby is OK and healthy despite the hospital scare.

Fans can find out what happens to Selina and the rest of her crew when the Season 6 finale of Veep airs on HBO at 10:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 25.
