Who Is Katherine Heigl Married To? Josh Kelley Met The Actress On The Set Of His Video

by Jenn Rose

News broke on Thursday morning that actress Katherine Heigl, star of the upcoming CBS drama Doubt, is pregnant with her third child. I'll admit that the star hasn't really been on my radar since Knocked Up, so my first thought was, who is Katherine Heigl married to? It turns out that her husband, singer-songwriter Josh Kelley, is famous in his own right.

Heigl and Kelley met in 2005 on the set of his music video, "Only You," according to Entertainment Tonight. Heigl described showing up to the set looking to hook up, but Kelley didn't seem at all interested. But when the two started working together, "we just had this chemistry and, I don't know, it was this weird, sort of unspoken connection," said Kelley. "We've literally been together since that day. I remember after the video shoot, I asked her out to dinner and we just kinda hit it off."

The couple married in 2007, adopted their daughters Naleigh and Adelaide in 2009 and 2012, respectively, according to People. They're now expecting their first boy, who will be joining a very full house. In 2014, Heigl told Us Weekly the family has with seven dogs, three cats, nine horses, two donkeys, two goats, and some chickens.

The couple is also still working together after all these years. According to ET, Heigl not only costarred in Kelley's "It's Your Move" video, it was also her directorial debut. The song was inspired by a rough patch in the couple's marriage, and Heigl said that making the video was "cathartic." The rest of Kelley's album, New Lane Road, is also a bit of a family affair. Taste of Country reported that the singer's father, John Kelley, appears on the title track, even though he didn't know it at the time. Kelley said that he recorded his dad talking over the phone without telling him. Brother Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum fame also co-wrote two songs on the album.

Kelley first came on the scene as a pop rock singer in 2003 and was often compared to John Mayer. He'd always wanted to be a country performer, though, and he did release a country album, Georgia Clay, in 2010. His newest album features a little bit of everything, however; NPR called it "an unfussy collection of soft rock, soul, adult pop and country." Kelley not only wrote and sang the songs, he also produced the album in his home studio, and played multiple instruments. Pretty impressive. Let's see if he can accomplish all that with a third kid in the house.
