Why You Should Orgasm Once A Day While Pregnant

Prenatal vitamins, plenty of water, lots of rest — all necessary, daily things to have when you're pregnant. But you know what else is a must when your womb is occupied and you've got nine months before you see your baby's sweet face? An orgasm. Yep, I said it — you should orgasm once a day while pregnant.

If the thought of sex while pregnant is giving you major no thank you vibes. I get it. But orgasms are not solely related to sex. Whether you're single or with a partner, having an orgasm can be a daily solo activity that does wonders for your body, especially when you're pregnant.

For a lot of moms-to-be, the thought of having an orgasm sounds not only tiresome, but dangerous. After all, orgasms have been known to make you cramp afterwards according to The Bump, and Fit Pregnancy notes that some moms might feel their belly harden after an orgasm. But despite those, having an orgasm while you're pregnant is more than safe — it's good for you, too.

There are tons of health benefits from orgasms, but the reason why every pregnant woman should have one each day? They are major stress-busters.

Pregnancy is a stressful time for everyone in different ways. You're worried about the health of your baby, you're worried about your own health, you're worried about maternity leave, you're worried about finding a daycare — it all builds up to a lot of stress. Not to mention the added anxieties of making sure you have everything you need, planning for your delivery, and you know, actually being a mom. Although some stress is normal, it's not great for your pregnancy. March of Dimes notes that stress can lead to trouble sleeping, headaches, appetite changes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and even premature births or babies with low birth weight.

It's incredibly hard to will yourself not to stress, which is why every pregnant mom should orgasm once a day. Research has found that when you orgasm, your body releases the hormone oxytocin, which lowers your blood pressure and your stress levels. And when you're less stressed, you're more likely to fall asleep and overcome that nagging headache.

So do what everyone is always telling you to do and relax. Keep calm and have an orgasm, right? It can chill you and your body out, allowing you some personal time, and a chance to reconnect with your body.
