Eric Could Go All The Way On 'The Bachelorette'

by Chrissy Bobic

Now that things have finally somewhat settled down on The Bachelorette, fans are into the last stretch of the season — full of questions, hometown dates, and eventually fantasy suite dates too. Because before Rachel can definitely choose one of these men to spend the rest of her life with, there are still a few ways to get to know them. And although he got off to a rocky start, in the end will Eric win The Bachelorette?

As it stands, he seems to have a pretty good chance. The issues he had earlier in the season with some of the other men, including Iggy and Lee, are long gone (as are those particular guys), and Rachel clearly saw that the atmosphere was bringing out the worst in Eric and normally that’s not who he is. In her June 20 People.com blog post, Rachel addressed the prior issues some of the men in the house had with Eric even though she was able to work through things with him.

"I think it’s hard for a guy who’s usually as positive as Eric to hear people speak negatively about him and not fly off the handle," she wrote. "As frustrating as it was to have to focus on the other men’s gossip regarding Eric during our conversation when I felt like he and I were ready to move forward after addressing his issues on the last group date, it still didn’t compare to Kenny and Lee’s blowup that night."

So will Eric win The Bachelorette this season? After all of the drama was over for Eric, he was able to have what was probably one of the best one-on-one dates of the season so far and it was like all of the drama from before didn’t matter because Eric got his time with Rachel. Being there "for the right reasons" is something that gets thrown around a lot every season, but it legitimately seems like Eric is there because he wanted to fall in love — and with Rachel, it might be happening for them both.

If we’re being realistic, the final four on The Bachelorette this season are very likely going to be Dean, Eric, Bryan, and Peter, and while that also means competition for each of them, Eric still stands a good chance at winning The Bachelorette when it comes down to the wire. And after Eric and Rachel’s one-on-one date in Denmark, he took to Instagram to post about it, making it seem like he definitely developed some very real feelings this season.

"The moment when nothing else matters but the love, connection and affection you share with the most beautiful person in the world," he wrote. He went on to say that Rachel is the only person to help him open up his heart and "feel something I never felt, and it's so beautiful because WE create magic. Thank you for being so uniquely you, strong and vulnerable at the right time so we can feel what we felt, complete bliss. THE LOVE IS REAL!"

With just a few weeks left of Season 13 of The Bachelorette, whether or not Eric wins will be revealed soon enough, but I think I speak for everyone when I say that if he doesn’t, he would be welcomed as a Bachelor in the future because how could America not swoon over that smile?
