A Khal Drogo Return To 'GoT' Is Possible

It seems that ever since the miraculous resurrection of Jon Snow, fans of Game of Thrones can't help wondering if some of their other favorite characters will be coming back from the dead. For example, will Khal Drogo return to Game of Thrones? Personally, I think this one is a little far-fetched, but it's a fairly popular theory that has been making the rounds.

The main basis for this theory lies in the prophecy of sorts made by Mirri Maz Duur after Daenerys tried to get her to bring her husband back to life. Mirri Maz Duur stated that:

When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. When the seas go dry and the mountains blow in the wind like leaves. When your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child. Then he will return, and not before.

Some Redditors and other Game of Thrones theorists are pointing out that this sounds an awful lot like a prophecy, one that could be interpreted metaphorically. At first blush it definitely seems like the witch is saying that Drogo is dead forever and Daenerys will never have kids again. But what if this wasn't actually what she was saying after all? What if she was just predicting Drogo's eventual return? Perhaps, even as Azor Ahai, which could definitely have some merit to it.

Redditor MrMasochist posits a long and extensive explanation for how Khal Drogo could actually be resurrected as Azor Ahai.

The frog prince is Dornish (sigil is a sun transfixed by a spear) and he makes his identity first known (rises) in westeros, before traveling east to Essos to meet Dany and free Viscereon and Rhaegal (who kill him (setting the sun's son)) OR - the sun rises in the west and sets in the east...

Dany's final chapter suggests that the great grass sea has succumbed to drought and died off, at least in the area she can see OR - the sea has gone dry...

after Rhaegal and Viscereon kill the Frog Prince they escape the pyramid by bursting free of the great structure, destroying it. the pyramids are referenced to nearly be as high as the Wall, so they are certainly 'mountains' OR - mountains blew in the wind like leaves...

and Dany's final chapter ends with her period returning. She hasn't remembered her moonflow for some time, perhaps since she had the miscarriage. OR - her womb quickens again...

The other part of this theory is that Jon Snow and Daenerys get together and have a child (let's pretend like that's not incredibly icky for a second, knowing now that they're actually related). Then Khal Drogo, now reborn as Azor Ahai, will reawaken in the South to wreak vengeance on Dany and Jon and their son, and then save the world from the White Walkers.

Personally, I'm not sold on this version of events. And as much as I love Jason Momoa, I'm not sure I'm willing to take him back at the expense of Daenerys and Jon Snow, the two characters most like protagonists in this whole thing. Plus, there's the fact that Momoa's IMDB page doesn't indicate anything of his return to the HBO series, though he still remains close and supports his former co-star/love interest, Emilia Clarke.

So he definitely seems to be a fan of the show and could be up for a possible return if the opportunity presented itself. Though whether or not it will ever comes to pass remains to be seen. If so, Momoa is certainly keeping mum about it.
