There’s a new Ice Age movie out on Disney+ and do you know what that means? That means there are now a total of six Ice Age movies. Six. And yet, that doesn’t seem like too many times to hang out with Sid, Manny, Diego, and all of their friends just trying to survive the harsh realities of life on a frozen planet. This time around, it looks like things get a little wild. Ice Age: Adventures Of Buck Wild, in fact.

The Plot Thickens

Ice Age: Adventures Of Buck Wild introduces two new characters, possum brothers Crash and Eddie (voiced by Sean William Scott and Josh Peck), who accidentally find their way back to the dinosaur-filled world underground first discovered in Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs in 2009. There they find an adventurous weasel named Buck (Simon Pegg), and as you can imagine, he’s going to get into some wild adventures.

The First Trailer Promised Adventure

Disney released the first trailer for Ice Age: Adventures Of Buck Wild last November, and Manny the Mammoth summed up the plot pretty nicely in one sentence. Upon noticing that Crash and Eddie have managed to plunge into the lost world, Manny says in the trailer, “Oh no! Those ding dongs went back to the lost world!”

And there you have it. The pair find Buck, a weasel wearing an eye patch, and decide immediately that they want to live a life of adventure like him. Which in this case means dodging dinosaurs and enormous spiders.

Ice Age: Adventures Of Buck Wild Premieres

Ice Age: Adventures Of Buck Wild is finally available for streaming on Disney+ on Jan. 28.

Parents will probably pick up on some slight differences in the voices; almost none of the original cast is back for this adventure. Simon Pegg continues to voice Buck Wild, but when it comes Manny the Mammoth, Sid the Sloth, and Diego the Sabre-tooth Tiger, it’s a whole new cast. Ray Romano has been replaced by Sean Kenin, John Leguizamo no longer voices Sid and Jake Green has taken over, and Skyler Stone took over from Denis Leary as Diego.

After watching the latest Ice Age installment, you and the kids might want to take a trip down memory lane to watch the first five Ice Age movies. Ice Age, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs, Ice Age: Continental Drift, and Ice Age: Collision Course are all available to stream on Disney+ now, along with Ice Age: Adventures Of Buck Wild.
