5 Things Instagram Users Want Updated Next

There's nothing worse than showing up late to the party, is there? Actually, yes there is now that I think about it. It's worse showing up with a big kale salad when everyone really wanted you to bring a cheesecake. This is Instagram right now. They brought their users something nutritious and time-tested when they rolled out their new Instagram Stories feature on Tuesday. After all, Snapchat users were already enjoying essentially the same feature, so everyone would love it right? No, guys, we really wanted the cheesecake. Here are five things Instagram users want updated next; In other words, Instagram, we're actually writing out a menu for you to follow so you won't mess it up this time. You're welcome. (Btw, check out Romper's Instagram here).

First of all, we can tell you what Instagram thinks its users wanted: Instagram Stories. As described by the Instagram blog;

With Instagram Stories, you don’t have to worry about overposting. Instead, you can share as much as you want throughout the day — with as much creativity as you want. You can bring your story to life in new ways with text and drawing tools. The photos and videos will disappear after 24 hours and won’t appear on your profile grid or in feed.

It's possible Instagram thought its users would like Instagram Stories because Snapchat Stories has been so popular and they are almost exactly the same feature. Who can know for sure? And while many users will, indeed, come to terms with this new feature, some users have decided to take matters into their own hands and simply tell Instagram what they want updated next.

Here are a few more wishlist items:

Chronological Timeline

Back in March, Instagram changed the way people viewed their timelines. Rather than the original chronological order, Instagram decided to change timelines to the "see the moments you care about first." And the internet lost its mind. If Instagram at least offered the option to switch their timeline to chronological again, they could make a lot of friends.

A "Pause" Button

Another feature Instagram used to carry but has since deleted, which is crazy when you think that, like VCRs had pause buttons. Because sometimes people need to do other things, Instagram. Also, sometimes you might need to hit the "pause" button just to see what needs seeing, if you get my drift.

Who's Following Me?

It does seem a little outrageous that Instagram doesn't allow for a "follows you" sign. Why are we posting all of these pics anyways? To get followers. Simple fix.

Mute Button

So you know when you don't actually want to get stuck following someone but you don't want to take that big "slapping you in the face" step of unfollowing someone. This is where a mute button on Instagram would come in mighty handy.

Video Views

If Instagram Stories are being touted as the Next Big Thing, and we're all supposed to start documenting every moment of our lives, then wouldn't it be nice if we could actually see who views our videos?

So there you have it, Instagram. Your users are looking for some simple updates, changes that will make their social media experience easier and more fun.

The next time we tell you to bring a cheesecake to the party... bring a cheesecake to the party.
