6 Kids' TV Shows & Movies Coming To Netflix In June That You Can Watch With Your Family

by Megan Walsh

Netflix

The best thing about Netflix is all of the options, though sometimes that can feel like the worst thing about it, too. The surfeit of choices can be overwhelming on those nights when you're endlessly scrolling, looking for something that will please everybody in the house. But luckily Netflix always comes through in a pinch: it may take some searching, but usually something can be found to please parents and kids alike. Or maybe just keep the kids occupied while you take a little me time. And these 6 kids' TV shows and movies come to Netflix in June can be good go-tos for those nights when you're spoiled for choice.

In June, Netflix will see new seasons of existing series make an appearance, as well as the premiere of a few new shows, too. There will also be a couple of animated classics debuting on the streaming service. All of them are taking the place of other movies and shows that are on their way out (including The Little Rascals, D2: The Mighty Ducks, and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids) so make sure to say goodbye to any movies you might miss when they disappear on June 1. Luckily, the void left by any exiting movies and shows can easily be filled by one of the following.

'Inspector Gadget' Season 3 (June 2)

Netflix's Inspector Gadget picks up where the original 1980s cartoon left off with brand new adventures for the Inspector himself, his niece Penny, and pooch Brain as they try to outwit Dr. Claw. If you're already a fan, then there's a new season to look forward to; if you're not, then you and your family now have two whole seasons to catch up on before Season 3 premieres.

Dreamworks' 'Trolls' (June 7)

It may feel like Trolls was only just in theaters, but it's already making its way to Netflix. Chock full of colorful visuals, celebrity voices, and musical numbers, it's definitely an option if you have fond memories of the days of troll dolls. But Trolls tells a story that goes far beyond those tiny toys with their colorful hair as joyful Princess Poppy and grumpy Branch seek to save everyone they know from miserable troll-eating creatures the Bergens. Will they discover life lessons along the way? Will they break into song while they do it? Well, you'll just have to watch and find out.

DreamWorks Animation

'World Of Winx' Season 2 (June 16)

The Italian animated series World of Winx began life as a spinoff of another show called Winx Club that was about the adventures of a group of magical fairies. World of Winx continues their stories after their days at fairy school come to an end; they take on jobs as talent scouts for a reality TV show named Wow! while hiding their true fairy selves. Along they way they have to protect people from a Talent Thief out to steal their abilities. Anyone interested in a magical adventure series with an unusual premise (if it's like Jem but with fairies, then sign me up) can give it a try.

Netflix

Disney's 'Moana' (June 20)

It's a pretty safe bet that almost everyone on earth has seen Moana, Disney's most recent musical adventure, but if you haven't, then Netflix has your back. And if you have, then you'll probably want to rewatch it the moment it appears on the streaming site. For those unfamiliar, the story is a classic one: Moana's titular heroine takes off across the ocean with demigod Maui by her side that that they can return the stolen heart of an island goddess. With famously catchy songs penned by Lin-Manuel Miranda and delightful voice work by Auli'i Cravalho and the Rock, it's not one you want to miss.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

'Free Rein' Season 1 (June 23)

Free Rein is a brand new original series making its debut on Netflix. It follows a teenage girl named Zoe who befriends a strange horse named Raven while staying at the Bright Field Stables in the English countryside one summer. That new friendship – with an actual horse, let's keep in mind – gives Zoe confidence to overcome whatever hurdles life throws at her. While there doesn't appear to be many available details about the upcoming series, it promises to be an uplifting story about an unlikely friendship.
