How To See Instagram Galleries On Your Phone RN

Instagram is fast becoming that friend, the one who sort of does everything better than you. Like, Britney, why can't you just let me be good at Japanese embroidery? That kind of thing. Once upon a time, Instagram was the place to share a few pics. Now it's basically life, and it's about to become the mainstay of your social media game. Instagram just announced its latest update, Galleries, and already everyone is madly trying to find out how to see Instagram Galleries. Because once you've got it, the days of posting one pic to Instagram at a time while waiting patiently for the appropriate amount of time to pass before you post another are totally over.

Starting Wednesday, Feb. 22, Instagram users will be able to add a slideshow of up to 10 pictures or videos per post, with followers able to simply swipe through photos notated by little grey dots at the bottom of the slideshow. Rumors of the possible launch of Instagram Galleries have been Twitter lore for some time, particularly since advertisers have been afforded the capability of using slideshows to promote their products for some time. While some Instagram users are opposed to the new roll out (because there are always a few), most are happy that the social media giant is finally giving them something they actually asked for, instead of weird newsfeed updates and such.

Instagram product manager Yichen Wang explained the appeal of the new Instagram Galleries in an email to Refinery29, saying

This product was inspired by members of our community, who have told us that there are times they want to share more than just one moment from a memorable experience in their feed. The ability to upload multiple photos and videos within one post not only adds depth to those moments, but it also complements other products within the app, such as stories, in a way that makes it easier than ever to share your highlights and everything in between on Instagram.

So how does it work? According to the Instagram blog:

When uploading to your feed, you’ll see a new icon to select multiple photos and videos. It’s easy to control exactly how your post will look. You can tap and hold to change the order, apply a filter to everything at once or edit one by one. These posts have a single caption and are square-only for now. On your profile grid, you’ll notice the first photo or video of your post has a little icon, which means there’s more to see.

You see what I mean about Instagram now, right? They're becoming the one-stop shopping of social media. Which makes me sad for other social media sites. I am worried Instagram might be getting too good... where do they go from here, I ask you, where?

Although wait — their filters could still use a little something. There, now I feel better.
