How To Make A Unicorn Frapp At Home

by Lindsay E. Mack

Unicorns are having a moment. Just try to escape the rainbow-hued unicorn hair trend on social media: it's everywhere. Not to be outdone, Starbucks recently released a drink that capitalized on the unicorn trend in a big way. Unfortunately, because the drink was a limited menu item, it's worth knowing how to make Starbucks' Unicorn Frappuccino at home.

Starbucks dropped the Unicorn Frappuccino Blended Crème drink on April 19, and it was only available until April 23 (or until supplies ran out), according to Romper. Chances are, your closest Starbucks sold the last Unicorn Frappuccino days ago. Did you miss it? No worries. You can still taste the rainbow flavor, or at least a close approximation, thanks to the help of some creative YouTubers. Which is great, because the official description of the drink includes some head-scratching ingredients.

According to the website for Starbucks, the Unicorn Frappuccino includes "pink and blue fairy powders" as a topping. I don't know about you, but I'm always fresh out of fairy powders this time of year. Thankfully, the YouTubers use ingredients such as sorbet, food coloring, and flavoring syrups for these creations, so you're likely to find them in real-life grocery stores. Who knows? This just might be your new favorite concoction.

This Unicorn Frap recipe from Courtney Randall calls for mango sorbet, sour candies, and a healthy dose of food coloring. You can even dust the whipped cream topping with sparkly stuff. Thanks to these little touches, the end result looks (and apparently tastes) pretty close to the original.

Not into dairy? No problem. Supreme Banana serves up a DIY vegan Unicorn Frappuccino. It's a vibrant take on the trend, and you'll get to work in some lovely coconut flavors.

Pineapple juice and ice cream coating make this Unicorn Frappuccino recipe from Tanamontana100 a fantastic creation. She crafted this recipe with taste in mind first. The finished product is still super cute, and it's made with ingredients that are readily available. Oh, and the finishing dust of glitter is everything.
