In just a matter of a few beach days, Dean Unglert went from Bachelor Nation's favorite underdog to the guy everyone yells at on their screen. While he merely used to make us puzzled by asking silly questions about favorite dinosaurs, his love triangle with Kristina and D-Lo was hard to watch this season. It's difficult to tell how it will all end up once the season comes to a close, which may prompt some fans to wonder whether or not Dean is single after Bachelor in Paradise.
It has not been an easy road for him, or the women around him. When production first began this year, Dean and Kristina Shulman initially hit it off, even going as far to spend the time during the production break together. But once they got back to the island, Danielle Lombard showed up and piqued Dean's interest. The two of them began to spend more and more time together, even as he told Kristina that he was still interested in exploring a relationship with her as well.
Because of his inability to dig his heels into a "more serious" relationship, Dean told Kristina that he was going to stick it out with D-Lo, even though he gave Kristina his rose a week earlier, prompting her to eliminate herself during a rose ceremony after giving a heartbreaking speech. It was gut-wrenching, to say the very least.
It's difficult to tell if Dean and D-Lo are still together, though we won't have to wait long to find out. Dean did turn down a date with Emily (one of the late-arriving twins) in the name of not further embroiling himself in beachfront drama.
Dean told Us Weekly in an interview that he, Danielle, and Kristina taped an episode of Ellen together. "So we’re all on good terms. There’s no more bad blood between the three of us," the 26-year-old said. He added that he's still into Kristina, hinting that maybe he's trying to win her back.
Kristina’s great. You know, her and I had to sit down and talk to each other and hopefully there’s a time that we can figure it out and see what happens from there. But we’re just for now casually talking and seeing if there’s anything there.
When the episode of Kristina leaving Paradise aired last week, Dean Instagrammed a picture of the two in Kentucky and wrote "You were out of my league." Talk about too little, too late.
He also told Us Weekly that he's been getting some nasty comments on social media from fans of the show who feel burned by his behavior towards both women, but that Danielle is getting the worst of it from Team Kristina, which is totally awful. What did Raven tell Kristina? It wasn't exactly D-Lo's fault that Dean had a crush on her and wasn't really clear about his intentions.
Hopefully, Dean is single after Bachelor In Paradise, because it doesn't really seem like he's exactly ready to settle down with one person just yet, which is totally acceptable. If it weren't the point of the entire franchise, of course. Good luck out there, Deanie Baby.
