A Cheesecake Factory Order To Increase Your Milk

by Kristina Johnson

For many breastfeeding moms, keeping up an adequate supply of milk is a constant worry. If you're nursing, you may be anxious about how much your baby is actually drinking and if they're getting full. If you're pumping, you may be disappointed by how much milk you get and wonder how you'll make that next feeding. Luckily, something as simple as a delicious meal out can help take away some of that stress. And, even luckier, there is a Cheesecake Factory order that could increase your milk supply.

Unfortunately for moms with a sweet tooth, it won't be one of the many decadent desserts you see on the menu. Rather, it's the is almond-crusted salmon salad.

There are many old wives' tales having to do with pregnancy and babies, but eating certain things to increase your milk supply isn't one of them— even doctors recommend it. Foods that help boost how much milk you make are called galactagoges, according to the American Pregnancy Association. Belly Belly noted that nuts of all kinds are great for making more milk, but almonds are the best. You'll get a nice helping of them from almond-crusted salmon salad, with the added bonus of a few other healthy foods for breastfeeding moms. According to The Bump, salmon is not only high in protein but also packed with DHA— a fat that can help boost your baby's nervous system (and also probably what gives your prenatal vitamins a slightly fishy smell or taste).

The salad is also served with kale, which is high in calcium and fiber according to Breastfeeding Today. Eating fiber rich foods is a great way to fight the constipation that many new moms deal with, according to Baby Center.

It's hard not to worry about your supply, but Kelly Mom noted that many women who stress about how much milk they're producing don't need to. If your baby seems satisfied, is dirtying their diapers, and is gaining weight, your supply is probably fine according to Fit Pregnancy. If your baby is indicating they need more milk, however, Ask Dr. Sears noted that the best way to increase your supply is to nurse and pump as often as you can.
