Lucas' Time On 'The Bachelorette' May Be Limited

by Chrissy Bobic

It’s one thing to be excited to meet Rachel, the beautiful and totally down to earth Bachelorette of Season 13, but it’s a totally different scenario when you have a contestant like Lucas, who seems to be "on" all of the time and literally can’t sit still. So naturally, some fans may already find themselves wondering: when does Lucas get eliminated on The Bachelorette? Because really, it's only a matter of time, right?

Since the season has finished filming, everything that’s going to happen has already happened, in a way, and although there might be a genuine guy beneath that sleeveless "whaboom" shirt, there’s little chance of him making it to the final four this season. Now, it is still early and there’s still a chance that Lucas could turn things around and be one of the guys Rachel comes to see herself with in a real way, but the first night kind of sets the tone for each contestant and it felt more like Lucas was there not so much to win over her heart, but rather capture his 15 minutes of fame.

On the first night, Lucas was too much for the majority of the guys and seemed to focus more on whabooming than making a good first impression with Rachel, which will probably continue throughout the rest of his time on the show. And if that’s the case, then Lucas’ time on The Bachelorette this season has got to be pretty limited.

Former Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise contestant Caila Quinn told Us Weekly that maybe Rachel kept Lucas around the first night because all of their interactions weren’t shown on camera. And, giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe there’s another side to him. Obviously Rachel kept Lucas around in the hopes that there’s more to him than just "whaboom," but his Instagram has the catchphrase all over it, which may have been the whole point of getting to run it into the ground on TV.

He also recently posted a video urging his fans (are they fans? I’m not sure yet) to do their best "whaboom" in order to win a free shirt. Something tells me that if he made it to the end on The Bachelorette and is engaged to Rachel, she wouldn’t be standing for this promotional nonsense.

Unfortunately I think most fans of the show are in agreement that Lucas probably won’t make it to the end, but how far will he make it and when will Lucas get eliminated? Although it’s still early in the season, the odds aren’t really in his favor with the stiff competition this season. A lot of the men seem to genuinely be there for Rachel and that’s not just the usual "here for the right reasons" talk that goes on during these shows.

With what seems to be Lucas’ whaboom agenda hitting hard among the men who are really there for romance with Rachel, he’ll be lucky if he lasts another elimination round.
