Will Amal Clooney Have A Home Birth?

by Kenza Moller

The world's latest and greatest power couple, George and Amal Clooney, are now in the final stretch of Amal's pregnancy. The Clooneys are expecting twins — a boy and a girl, according to George's mother — and the little ones' due date is fast approaching. Fans are now wondering what exactly the human rights attorney has in mind for her birth plans: Will Amal Clooney have a home birth, or does she have a fancy maternity ward rented out at a hospital already? Does she plan to welcome the twins in the United States or in the United Kingdom?

While George doesn't seem to mind speaking to the media about his impending arrivals, he understandably hasn't shared birth details with the public — and Amal, who falls on the more private side, has said even less. However, an unnamed source recently told E! News that Amal would be giving birth in London (no word on whether that birth would take place at the couple's home or in a hospital, though) and that she would begin maternity leave soon after. The couple is also reportedly planning to raise their children in the United Kingdom.

"She plans to be back at work around six months after giving birth, but her schedule will be greatly different than before," the unnamed source reportedly told E! News. "A lot of time spent working at home. She has a great office set up at the Sonning house."

Romper reached out to Amal's offices for comment, but did not hear back immediately.

Regardless of the couple's plans, the twins should be arriving fairly soon. According to People, George skipped out on a ceremony in Armenia this past weekend, using the twins' impending arrival as a (very fair) excuse for his absence. "I really would have been [in Yerevan] but if I came there and my wife had twins while I was there, I could never come home," he said in a video message, according to People.

George has also spoken to the media about the names he and Amal are considering for the twins. He joked that he'd considered naming the twins after his tequila company, Casamigos, only to have the names rejected by Amal. "My wife says I can't name them Casa and Amigos. That's the one thing I'm not allowed to do," he said, according to Entertainment Tonight. "It was just a thought. I mean, you know, it's a family business."

Either way, it sounds like George and Amal are looking forward to the twins' birth and the excitement two kids will bring. Here's to hoping everything goes as smoothly and as privately as possible for the growing family!
