'Famous In Love' Could Return For A Season 2

Freeform's newest series Famous in Love is already shaping up to be a hit. The series, which is based on the book series by Rebecca Serle, is executive produced by Pretty Little Liars creator I. Marlene King, and stars Bella Thorne. Just like Freeform's other latest series Beyond, the entire 10-episode first season of Famous in Love will be available to stream on Freeform.com and On Demand, after the series premiere. With fans able to binge the first season so quickly, many will probably wonder if Famous in Love will return for Season 2. Right now it's too early to call.

Most likely Famous in Love won't be renewed until after the end of the first season, but based on how well this model worked for Beyond, it's seems likely that Famous in Love will be successful as well. With the new form of binge watching, fans can get hooked on the series way quicker, and thanks to social media, the more people talk about it online, the more people will watch. This form of premiering shows is still pretty new, but with streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu, it's no surprise Freeform is getting into the mix.

Besides the new way of viewing, Famous in Love will probably draw in fans from Pretty Little Liars. Not only is the show created by the same person, but it will also air right after PLL and fans will definitely stay to at least give King's new show a chance. Though not all of King's shows have been successful (never forget Ravenswood), King's track record is still pretty stellar. Plus, the premise of Famous in Love seems perfect for Freeform's target audience.

The main character Paige (played by Thorne) is thrust into the spotlight after she's cast in a Hollywood blockbuster film. Left to fend for herself in a new world, she quickly discovers fame isn't always what it's cracked up to be. Based on the trailer, it looks like there will be a love triangle and, of course, tons of drama. On top of that, Paige will also uncover "the truth about a missing popstar," which may give the show the sense of mystery they've come to expect from shows like PLL.

Famous in Love sounds like the perfect show to get hooked on and the best way to make sure it's renewed for another season is just to watch. You can check out the new show when it premieres on Tuesday, April 18 at 9 p.m. ET on Freeform.
